The first team are hosting 2nd placed side Tudhoe. After a very disappointing display last week the lads will be looking to bounce back and win on the board today.

🏏 4XI Result | Ted Hodgkiss Memorial Trophy RD2 🏏

This evening our 4XI welcomed Ryton to Dawdon in the Ted Hodgkiss Memorial Trophy.

After winning the toss and choosing to field, Dawdon worked hard against an experienced Ryton side who posted 131-7 from their 20 overs. The standout performances with the ball came from Ollie Crawford (2-12) and Keane Mitchell (2-13), both producing excellent spells to keep the visitors in check.

In reply, the lads battled throughout the chase but found themselves behind the required rate. Jaxon Head led the way with a superb 42 from 38 balls, earning him the Player of the Match award. Liam Rodgers added a valuable 22, while Mark Swan marked his debut for the club with an unbeaten 14*.

Unfortunately, it wasn't quite enough as Ryton claimed victory by 29 runs and progressed to the next round. We wish them the very best of luck in the competition.

🏏 BUSY NIGHT AT DAWDON WCC! 🏏

There’s plenty happening at the club this evening as our 4XI host Ryton in the 2nd Round of the Ted Hodgkiss Memorial Cup.

📍 Dawdon WCC vs Ryton 🏆 Ted Hodgkiss Memorial Cup – Round 2 🕕 Start Time: 6:00pm

The club will be buzzing throughout the evening with all junior training sessions taking place alongside Women’s training, making it another fantastic night for cricket at Dawdon.

We’re also delighted that local Paralympic Silver Medallist Mark Swan will be making his Dawdon 4XI debut. Everyone at the club is looking forward to seeing Mark pull on the whites for the first time and wishes him every success.

A big good luck to Kyle Dodds and the team as they look to book their place in the next round, and thank you to all our players, coaches, volunteers, sponsors and supporters who continue to make our club thrive.🏏

🏏 Ernie Lamb Trophy Quarter Final | U13s 🏏

Our U13s made the trip to Silksworth for their Ernie Lamb Trophy Quarter Final and were able to book their place in the Semi Final! 👏

Silksworth won the toss and elected to bowl first. We got off to a solid start with a 54-run opening partnership, with Dylan Pittilla (27) and Ethan Lloyd (17) laying the platform. The standout innings came from Jack Fletcher, who retired on 32 from 33 balls, including his very first six, helping us finish on 105-4 from our 20 overs.

In reply, the lads started strongly with the ball. A few lapses in concentration in the field gifted Silksworth some extra runs, but well done to Mason Gardner retiring on 33 not out. With Silksworth needing 12 from the final over, the game went right down to the wire before two wickets for just two runs sealed a 9-run victory.

🏏 U17s Match Report 🏏

A fantastic all-round performance from our U17s this evening as they hosted Wearmouth & YAV in the DCBJL U17 Division 3.

Batting first, the lads got off to a flying start and laid the foundations for a competitive total of 136-9 from 20 overs. ⭐ Cevat Sahin led the way with a superb 69 runs, earning himself Player of the Match honours.

Defending the total, the team showed great discipline with the ball and in the field, restricting Wearmouth to 101-8. 🔥 Jaxon Head was the standout bowler with excellent figures of 4-14, while U13 player Ethan Lloyd continued to impress, taking 2-18.

It was also fantastic to see Ronnie Hart back in Dawdon colours and contributing to another excellent team performance. Welcome back, Ronnie! 👏❤️💛

A brilliant team effort and another excellent win for the lads! 👏

🏏 U15s Match Report🏏

Our U15s travelled to Peterlee this evening and put in a spirited performance despite falling to a 26-run defeat.

After making a strong start with the ball and keeping things tight early on, Peterlee managed to build momentum and finished on 118-3 from their 20 overs. Wickets were shared by:
👏 Elliot Mitchell – 2-23
👏 Joshua Gustard – 1-18

Chasing 119, the lads battled hard throughout the innings. Ollie Crawford top-scored with 25, while Ethan Lloyd added 18, but we finished on 92-5 from our 20 overs.

Congratulations to Peterlee on the win, and we wish them the best for the rest of the season.

There were plenty of positives for our lads to take away from the game, and the experience will help them continue to develop as a team.
