And just like that, we’ve reached the final week of the 2026 season! 😢

There’s still plenty of cricket to come, with our final fixtures across the club this week as we look to finish the season on a high! 💪

As we head into the final few days, we also want to take a moment to say a massive THANK YOU to everyone who has supported Dawdon WCC throughout the season. ❤️💛

Your support throughout 2026 has been incredible, and we hope you’ve enjoyed being part of the journey as much as we have.

🏏 U9s SOFTBALL FRIENDLY! 🏏

Our U9s softballers were back in action this morning as they headed over to Hetton Lyons for a friendly! 🙌

Hetton Lyons finished on 115, with our young Dawdon side finishing on 50.

The result was secondary today — it was all about getting the kids out there, enjoying their cricket and, most importantly, getting more games under their belts! 💪🏏

There were plenty of smiles, some great cricket and another brilliant experience for our young players. ❤️

🏏 JOINT STANDOUT PERFORMANCE! 🏏

What a brilliant platform these two lads provided in yesterday’s run chase! 🔥

👏 Kieran Weyer – 89
👏 Liam Rodgers – 70

The pair put together a superb 143-run opening partnership, setting the perfect foundation and giving the side every chance of getting over the line.

Two excellent innings, but more importantly, a fantastic partnership that showed patience, intent and plenty of quality. 💪🏏

A huge congratulations to Kieran & Liam on being our Joint Standout Performers! 👏🍾

🏏 2XI KEEP THE WINNING RUN GOING! 🏏

What a brilliant run chase from the 2XI as they continued their winning run with a 3-wicket victory over Esh Winning 2XI! 🔥

Chasing 229 for victory, the lads put together an excellent response, with Kieran Weyer (89) and Liam Rodgers (70) laying the foundations with a superb 143-run opening partnership. 👏

That partnership created the platform the side needed, putting Dawdon firmly in control and setting up the opportunity to get over the line with just two balls to spare! 💪🏏

🏏 1XI TOUGH DAY AT THE OFFICE🏏

It was a tough afternoon for the lads as the 1XI suffered a 9-wicket defeat away to Tudhoe Cricket-Club.

Batting first, Dawdon posted 122 all out, with Matty Billyard top scoring with 38, supported by Pasindu Thirimadura with 33.

Tudhoe chased the target down in just 10.1 overs, finishing on 123-1.

Not the result we were looking for, but we dust ourselves down and go again for the final game of the season next week against Ryhope.

🏏 WOMEN'S FRIENDLY🏏

This evening our Women’s side welcomed our neighbours from Seaham Harbour Cricket Club for a friendly game at the Green Drive.

After Michaela decided the boundaries needed to be smaller than the ones we set for the U9s 😂, Dawdon batted first and posted a competitive 96.

Seaham Harbour battled hard but finished on 66, giving Dawdon a 30-run victory! 👏🏏

A massive thank you to Michelle and all the lasses from Seaham Harbour for coming along and making it a great evening of cricket. 🤝
