BACK TO WINNING WAYS!

Yesterday the boys were up against Belmont for the second time in a month, it was a glorious morning for football.

First half was a how I describe a battle for the middle of the pitch with a few chances either way with some crucial defending from Blake and Oliver and great goalkeeping from Isaac to go in half time 0-0.

After a good drink and the a few players needing to take there skins off, and a good talk we went back out ready to go.
The second half we clicked with forward play with Josh, charlie, Teddy, Reggie and Lewis bossing the midfield with great link up play to thrive forward and for Lewis to get 2 goals 1 after another really to go 2 up, Belmont had there chances but Denny at right back stood his ground and cleaned up, max went up front and chased every ball and winning tackles and eventually got the goal he deserved.

So 3-0 up we were comfortable, but Belmont had a resurge and pulled 2 back late in the game , but with some great defending and team work and team spirit we got over the line with 3 points!

THE STAR BACK TO WINNING WAYS!!!

Back to full strength today for the first time this year , the boys were up against north east sports u9’s at a very chilly Washington hub.

Took us a bit time to get going today but still fresh with not being a massive amount of football played due to Christmas and weather , but when we did get started the passing and the energy was great, both teams really wanted it today so there was a lot of tackles going in and energy in the middle of the park at some points end to end stuff, no goals to report in the first half but I really liked what I sore attacking and defensively.

Now on to the second half the boys were straight into it, a lot of battles won and great saves by our keeper, but unfortunately a low skimmed ball from a very tight angle snuck in off the far post, so the star were behind for the first time in the game, but i would like to say how proud I was to not see 1 head drop! They just wanted to get the ball kicked off asap they were hungry! And that hunger paid off after changing formation and going all out attack we drew level with marvellous passing and movement 1-1. But the lads wanted the win and with the same all out attack not giving up on the ball the ball was tucked away! 2-1, and for good measure the same lad made it 3-1 with outstanding effort, battled hard until the end FULL TIME!

The energy levels and team spirit amazed me today , makes it all worth while.
