What a game at the park tonight!!

The lasses can count themselves lucky tonight to come away with the win with East Rainton Cricket Club putting in a cracking performance

We fielded first holding East Rainton to 99 for 7 wickets and went into the bat feeling really confident.

Wickets taken 2 for Helen and Jen, 1 each for Ally, Reanne n Adele

An early fall of wickets had us massively on the back foot but our lower order was superb doing exactly what they needed to in order to get us over the line.

This shows the strength the teams have in depth, they pulled it out the bag. Shout outs to Sofia H, Jen, Suzy and Deb in the bat

I can’t let the post go without a shoutout for the EXCEPTIONAL Adele, retired on 25 and came back in after our wickets went and finished on 40 not out 👏 🤲 👏 🤲 outstanding mate

Massive shout out to East Rainton, great cricketers and a great team, good luck for the rest of the season

Great afternoon at the Seaham Park Ladies Cricket festival

We had 2 teams entered….

SPCC 1 won 2 v Seaham Harbour 96-64 and Boldon 104-94 but lost to South Hetton 78-61 meaning they narrowly missing out on making the semi final.

It was a great fielding and batting display by the whole team 👏

SPCC 2 won all 3 of their games, beating Blackhall in the opener in a v close game 98-93 following up with a win against Stockton 145-52 setting up a league decider v Dawdon where we came out 126-100 winners, nowt like winning a local derby on your home turf and to be fair it was a cracking game with great cricket from both teams.

This set up a semi final v East Rainton where we came out 99-87 winners, East Rainton played some cracking cricket well done ladies

The final SPCC v South Hetton saw SPCC coming out winners 78-61 in a v close game. The low score from both show how tight the game was.

Thanks to all teams for their participation today, there was some brilliant cricket on display and all with a smile on their faces, truly brilliant to see.

On to East Rainton on Friday evening for our overs game and Sunday for the festival at South Hetton where they will be no doubt looking to take the trophy at their home ground, after how they played today we know they will be there or thereabouts.

Our Royals were at home to Philadelphia tonight, a new team to the league and a lovely bunch of lasses

We came away with the win by 211 runs.

SPCC lost the toss so batted first and put on an impressive 236 runs on the board. 

The whole team batted brilliantly only losing 2 wickets with Gemma Cook topping the scoreboard with 38 runs from 11, Reanne came in 2nd (and she will hate this so thoughts are with the next team we play 😂) with 51 from 15, Ally finished off with 27 from 12.

In the field Ally topped the board with 5 wickets, 1 maiden, 10 runs against from 24 balls
Caroline Hodgson was hot on her heels with 1 wicket and only 6 runs from 12 balls.
Wickets also fell 2 for Reanne, 2 for Helen Todner, 2 for Becky O’Brien, 2 for Gemma Cook

We can’t let the post go without a shout out for the last ball of the game, looking to be a certain 6 Caroline jumped up, 1 handed catch right on the boundary managing to somehow keep on the pitch 👏

Overall a great team performance and all 8 lasses deserve all the accolades they get.

Honestly though a great shout out to Philadelphia Cricket Club. For their first season they have some cracking players and we have no doubt they will go strength to strength. Good luck ladies for rest of the season

Our Sapphire team played away at Hetton Lyon’s tonight, always a tough place to go and tonight was no different but the lasses put on a great display and were unlucky to lose by just 24 runs

Call outs for Michelle Howe with an outstanding 41 from 16 balls 🤩
Deb Neil put on an impressive 37 and Mandi Johal followed up with a great 23 closing on 140/5 chasing 159

In the bowl Michelle Hutchinson took 2 for 12, Nic Yews got 1 for 12 and Kim Teasdale 1 for 34. Aside from the wickets Sofia Wright was our stand out bowler losing only 12 runs for 3 overs 👏

Overall a team performance the SPCC lasses should be proud of and we go again

Ladies Cricket Festival 2026 🏏

This Sunday sees the return of our Annual Ladies Festival starting at 13:00 🏏

16 teams all competing and great to see over 100 Ladies playing cricket 👏

Come down and support the Park Ladies as they aim to win back to back home festivals.

All welcome, Bar open from 11:30am and Boundary Cafe open from 12:30 serving the usual hot and cold snacks and this week’s special is Hot Pork & Stuffing Sandwiches!

Brilliant performance by the 11a side ladies tonight away at Sacriston Ladies Cricket Team continuing our 100% record so far this season with an 8 wicket win tonight

All round brilliant bowling fielding performance restricted Sacriston to 95/8

3 wickets for Reanne
1 for Adele
2 catches for Allyson Beardmore
1 catch for Jenny Robinson and 1 for Reanne

In the bat SPCC finished 99/2

A great opening partnership between Helen Todner with a brilliant 25 rtno 🥳 and Adele Brown 19 gave us the start we needed and the order built on that to take us over the line.

Well done lasses, thanks to Sacriston for being great hosts and an all round lovely team, wishing you all the best for the rest of the season

Outstanding tonight by both Seaham Park ladies teams 👏

The Royals winning at Littletown by 160 runs and the Sapphires at Ryhope by 29 runs.

Brilliant performances all round and starting the season as we mean to go on!

Every player from both teams played brilliant and the stats are something to be proud of!

Cricketing masterclass from the ladies tonight in their opening game of the season winning by 9 wickets in the ☀️

Probably the best I’ve seen us field and went out and did what was needed in the bat.

Massive well done to our ladies darts team who won the Round Robin Cup final in a hard fought contest with Island Club A. Thanks for a great game as always Island A and good luck for rest of the season and thanks to Peterlee Central for hosting.

Absolutely brilliant from the Park lasses, think the club is gonna have to invest in a trophy room for all the ladies of the club at this rate!
