Newhaven and Seaford Sailing Club was formed in 1952 by a group of enthusiasts who sailed from Newhaven and later from the beach near the old Buckle Inn at Seaford. Later the Club obtained the rights to sail on Piddinghoe Pond some 5 miles away. Subsequently the present clubhouse on the beach was built and the freehold to the Pond acquired. The Club has an average membership of about 450. The Club regularly has 6 fleets: Laser 1s, Dart 18s, Squibs, Toppers, Optimists and a handicap fleet. Racing takes place on Sundays throughout the year (on the sea in Summer and on the Pond during the Winter months); a series is also run on Wednesday evenings during the Summer months. The Club hosts open meetings during the year, has a regatta during August each year and holds a cadet week (open). Newhaven and Seaford Sailing club is not far from Brighton, Lewes and Eastbourne.

The Radio Controlled Yachts section of NSSC are pleased to announce their first DF 95 Open Meeting on Wednesday 16th September at Piddinghoe Lake. Noel West, Class Captain, said “We are all very excited to be running our first open meeting, just 2 years after we were formed. Visiting sailors will receive a very warm welcome”
Even if you are not sailing, come on down and see the most picturesque lake, nestling just below the majestic South Downs.

😎Sailing Week saw spectacular weather! Sunny every day, no rain, and a mix of mostly light and medium winds, so everyone could get out on the water. There were two days(three races) of nice strong winds for the brave!
⛵38 adults and 14 cadets took part in the morning races to compete for the Miller Cup.
⛵49 people sailed in the Starters Salver afternoon races.
⛵There were 14 races in total, only one cancelled on Monday afternoon when the shore break got too frisky!
