Kelly Slade Yoga

Kelly Slade Yoga At Kelly Slade Yoga, every class is designed around how you want to feel. Sometimes we need rest, reset or connection with others.

We breathe, move and regulate our nervous system šŸ’• I have studied many styles of the physical forms of yoga including Vinyasa, Iyengar, Ashtanga, Bikram, Hatha, Restorative, Yin to name but a few and my style of yoga reflects what I deem are the best bits of all of these. I have a deep respect for Pranayama, meditation, as well as Yoga Nidra (yogic sleep) and I love to incorporate these elements i

nto my classes as they are so beneficial for our health and well-being. My inspiration comes from you... my awesome yogi tribe that just inspire me every day. You all help me realise my dream of sharing my passion for yoga with you. Through creating a safe space and placing emphasis on softening and synchronising your breath I will guarantee you will flow with more ease than you believed possible which will, in turn deepen your practise. My yoga training:

Monday views not blues šŸ’•

It’s certainly feeling autumnal out there! Rain stopped my walk this morning so it was a short one for me this afternoon instead.

Yoga restarts this week. Have you booked your space yet?

My promise to you….

I’m seeing a lot of accounts using AI to write their posts, people using filters and not showing their true authentic selves. It’s all feeling a bit samey.. do you find that?

I get it, in a world where AI is utilised well for many things. But for me, it doesn’t show the person who you truly are. And that’s the only reason I’m here. So you get chance to spend a little bit more time with me outside my classes and retreats. But here it’s one sided, I much prefer an in-person interaction. I love it when my yogis tell me off for offering up a pose they think is impossible šŸ˜‚. Or when I forget to offer up a pose on the second side and they remind me. Thanks perimenopause brain šŸ™„.

There will always be a degree of performance mentality in front of a camera, that’s a self preservation and protection mode we all switch on.

But I promise, as much as humanly possible… I am here holding a space for you. My classes are my sequences I design myself then throw half of it out of the window when I feel the energy of the room. My yoga Nidra is my own words. My cues have been picked up by the great many number of teachers I have had the pleasure of studying with and then I’ve made them my own. It might be old school, it might be the hard way, I might say the wrong thing. But I know in my heart I am showing up as me.

Hopefully in an AI world, that’s why I’m different. That’s why my classes land well. Because I’ve been doing this long enough to really feel what you need.

However I should say these gorgeous images from Sarah Carmody Photography were taken a few years ago so I probably should get those updated! What do you think? Shall I get some more done, wrinkles and all? šŸ¤¦ā€ā™€ļø

Flow Fest September 2026 WILD SPA WOWO

This is my favourite event of the year. So much so that I do it twice! This is my third year (I think) at this beautiful space and I can honestly say you’ll feel rested and reset afterwards. The event always brings the most lovely people to share the experience with so come with a friend or on your own, know you’ll have the most incredible time.

Enjoy a sauna in between workshops held by the best wellbeing practitioners I’ve had the pleasure of being alongside. Always honoured to be asked to be part of this. I’ll do my best to host a sunset yoga session that will leave you fully embodied and ready to take on the world after a full day of focusing on you and what you need 🌿

There’s something about September.

After the long days, late nights, holidays, routines disappearing and the expectation to enjoy the summer whilst it lasts, you can arrive at September feeling a little flat.

Not unfulfilled, not having loved the summer. Just… out of rhythm and a little out of sorts.

And that’s why I think September is better than January for starting again.

January can feel like New Year, New You after over indulging. Creating a list of things we should fix, change or achieve. And those who know me know how much I hate this mentality. The gyms use it as a marketing campaign to get you to sign up and try to get you to change yourself.

September feels different. It’s about restoring the balance. Finding your rhythm again. Creating a routine that feels good and rebuilding your relationship with yourself. Slowing down a little.

It’s time to move your body. Time to breathe. Time to be still. Find time that belongs to you. The September routine can give you this opportunity.

Not becoming a new you. Just coming back to yourself.

So if you’re feeling a little flat after summer, maybe you don’t need a big life overhaul.

Maybe you just need an hour each week to reconnect. It can be that simple. I hope to see you on the mat from next week.šŸ’•

I came for the movement. I stayed for the stillness. šŸ’•

When I first started yoga, I came for the obvious things.
The movement. The stretching. The feeling of working my body and nailing the ā€˜advanced’ poses.
And, if I’m honest, I loved getting stronger too.

Years of practice have changed my body in ways I didn’t necessarily expect. I have more strength, more muscle definition, better balance and a much greater awareness of how my body moves. I love feeling capable in my body, not because it looks a certain way, but because it feels strong and helps me thrive in my day to day life.

But that’s not why I keep coming back. Somewhere along the way, I discovered the stillness.

The few minutes when I stop trying to achieve anything.
The quieter breath. The meditation. Helping my mind to finally stops running ahead of me.

That’s the bit I didn’t know I needed. Yoga has taught me that strength isn’t just about how long I can hold a pose. It’s also about being able to pause. To breathe. To notice. To listen to my body rather than constantly asking it to do more.

And that’s why, after all these years, I still roll out my mat. I came for the movement. I stayed for the stillness.
And somewhere in between, I learned how to feel more at home in my own body.

That’s the yoga I want to share with you. Not yoga that asks you to perform. But the one where you learn so much more about yourself. Then and only then will you find what you’re capable of.

Classes resume next week in Berwick. Book your space through my website.

Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursday Dynamic Hatha 🫶

Strength. Mobility. Balance. Breath.

A considered, exploratory practice for people who want to understand their bodies rather than simply move through a sequence. We decide as a group what we’re going to work on that class by checking in with our energy levels.

We’ll work on strength and mobility, explore different ways of moving and use the breath to bring awareness to the body. Sometimes we challenge ourselves. Sometimes the most challenging thing of all is slowing down and holding a pose.

You’ll be encouraged to find your version of the pose. Not mine. Not the person next to you.

Yours. Because yoga isn’t about forcing your body into a shape. It’s about becoming curious enough to listen to it and responding.

Thats all I’ll teach you. When you respond you will build strength internally and externally. The physical effects are noticeable; yes. In a world where we are focused on the what we can see, yoga will be a challenge as you build strength, endurance and mobility. But it has a sneaky way of making you feel reset. Ready to take on the rest of the day or week. All classes include Breathwork and a guided Yoga Nidra.

Come along, your body and mind will thank you. Full timetable is on my website and classes restart next week. Looking forward to meeting you all back on the mat šŸ’•

Tuesdays Beginners Yoga 🌿

Your place to start. Or pick up where you left off if you haven’t practiced for a while.

Never done yoga before? Or simply want to slow everything down and understand the foundations?

This is where you learn how to move, breathe and build confidence without feeling like everyone else already knows what they’re doing. A welcoming community of like minded individuals that just want to learn how to find space in their body and mind. Some never leave the beginners class as they love the pace.

You don’t need to be flexible.

You don’t need to touch your toes.

You just need to turn up and learn to experience how yoga can ease those aches and pain associated with modern living. Learn how to harness the breath and use it for challenging situations in your life. Learn when and how to slow down and turn your attention inwards. Learn when your nervous system is whispering so it doesn’t need to shout. You will thrive in life learning to live this way. Yoga isn’t exercise and once you embrace this you will wonder how you ever lived without it.

You will become stronger, more resilient and healthier. Each class is tailored to you, your energy levels and what you’d like to work on.

Classes are on a block booking basis to help you commit to a regular practice. This is something I firmly believe in. There will always be an excuse to not come. Invest in yourself and your own wellbeing.

The next course starts on Tuesday 8 September at 6pm in Berwick. Parking on site. Book via my website, link in bio.

Monday Vinyasa Flow šŸ”„

Strong. Dynamic. Energising.

If you love to move, sweat, be challenged and leave feeling like you’ve really worked your body — this is your class.

Many yoga classes are offered as ā€˜accessible’ but this class is not for the faint hearted. I noticed a gap in the offerings in our area for a really strong class incorporating inversions, arm balances and strength training.

Please decide if you’d like a class like this before you come along. My vinyasa flow class is simply not like others out there, I will offer you different variations of the pose to suit your body as an individual but you must be prepared to be fully embodied, linking breath with movement.

Expect flowing sequences, strength, balance and plenty of opportunity to challenge yourself. I offer up poses you might not see in my other classes. We support each other as we move with intention and then deciding if we’d like to accept a stronger version of the pose. This class is not for beginners. You need to know when to step back, you need to know your body and the poses well. You need to appreciate that some classes you’ll feel energised enough to try something different and then sometimes knowing that child’s pose is more suitable for you today.

Strong yoga. The ego is left at the door as learn what’s possible in your practice.

Breathwork to centre and bring you home to your mat and always never forgetting the most challenging pose of all; Savasana. I offer a guided Yoga Nidra (meditation) in all my classes. Softness, integration and a moment to pause is an integral part of your practice.

Mondays from 7 September at 6pm - 7.15pm in Berwick. PAYG class bookable online through my website. Link in bio šŸ’•

The next few posts will be explaining the yoga I teach and the different classes I have on offer. I know all the yoga styles are confusing and one yoga teachers vinyasa flow will be completely different to another’s.

Q - What makes my yoga different overall?

I’m not particularly interested in getting everyone in the room to look the same.

I actually don’t want that. A lot of the time I make an effort to show how different we all look in the pose.

Your body isn’t the same as mine or the yogi next to you. With an in person class you can see how others adapt the shape to make it work for them. We help each other, as a group we offer guidance. Every single day I learn more from you because you help teach me how your body feels in a shape.

So why would you think your yoga practice needs to look exactly like mine or the yogis next to you? You’re on a different journey in life. With many yoga styles there is a correct alignment mentality, but that’s not my way.

In my classes, I’ll teach you the pose — but I’ll also teach you how to listen to your body and adapt it.

Maybe your knee needs a little more space. Maybe your hips are tight so using props really helps you feel more comfortable. Maybe your hamstrings aren’t interested in touching the floor today or ever. But you need to feel where it feels uncomfortable your body and breathe into it.

Your version of the pose will look completely different than the yogi next to you.
Thats because you are perfectly unique as you are.

That’s not doing yoga ā€œwrongā€. There is no such thing. That’s practising yoga. Every single day will be different. As you gain strength, mobility and flexibility with a dedicated practice, you’ll have to adapt again.

I want you to become embodied enough to notice what’s happening in your own body, rather than spending the whole class trying to make it look like someone else’s, because the goal isn’t the perfect pose.

It’s learning to move through life with a little more awareness, strength, adaptability and kindness towards yourself.

That’s the yoga I teach. You are not living someone else’s life. And neither should your yoga practice be either.
