Scunthorpe and District Airgun Club ..SDAC

Scunthorpe and District Airgun Club ..SDAC Scunthorpe & District Airgun Club is a small shooting club that hires a hall every Friday night

Now located at St Paul’s Church Ashby High Street Scunthorpe DN16 2JR
Friday night between 7pm and 9pm

Scunthorpe & District Airgun Club was originally the airgun section of Scunthorpe & District Rifle & Pistol Club until 2003 when the airgun section became its own independent shooting club due to the unfortunate folding of the Scunthorpe & District Rifle & Pistol Club. The club shoots both air r

ifles and air pistols within the legal limit of 12 ft.lb (foot pounds) which most air rifles will normally be and air pistols will normally be less. Members can shoot for pleasure or competition, depending what they wish to shoot for and our members have won trophies shooting in the LSRA postal competitions and Yorkshire benchrest competition. These competitions allow members to shoot against other clubs across the county.

Hi all, this is just to let you know about additional club nights that will be available shortly. Due to a mix-up concerning hall availability this week, Scott has negotiated 2 additional nights for us to use the range. These will be on Monday1st and Monday 8th of August. These evenings will be in addition to the Friday evenings of those weeks. Also, just a reminder to everyone that the range will not be open this coming Friday - the 29th July.
Best wishes,

Chairman Alan Burdett Letter December 2021

Dear All,
We write to inform you that, due to the restrictions imposed on us at the Hobbies Centre, the committee has decided to acquire new premises for the club to operate from.
The address of our new venue is:
St Paul’s Church Hall
Ashby High Street
Scunthorpe
DN16 2JR
There is ample parking to the side and rear of the hall and good facilities inside.
Our first meeting at the hall will be on Friday 7th January starting at 7pm.
We hope that all members will be able to attend as this will also be the evening we hold our AGM and let you know of any protocols the St Paul’s committee has asked us to follow.
Following the AGM all weapons will need to be chronographed prior to any shooting.
All members must bring proof of being double vaccinated and of having had a booster jab.
You must also wear a mask inside the hall when not shooting.
The committee would like to wish all members a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Covid-19 Update 01/07/2020.

Section From the Guidance note from the N.S.R.A. 24th June 2020

"Following the Prime Minister’s Statement yesterday (23 June 2020) we would like to confirm our latest guidance concerning the reopening of clubs. While recognising the huge efforts you are making to ensure you are Covid-19 Secure we have to advise our position remains unchanged from our last Guidance Notes published on 1 June 2020.
In carefully considering yesterday’s statement and further Government advice that has followed since, we acknowledge that because Clubs are “leisure facilities” we are not yet able to change our guidance from that provided at the beginning of the month. The most important of the criteria that must be met is the environment you are providing is Covid-19 Secure in all respects and as Government Guidance stands you are not yet in a position to meet the most fundamental of criteria in all respects."

Also under the guidance from the insurance they state no to indoor shooting.
we suspect that when gyms and swimming pools reopen we should be able to open the range

Hi everyone. As you are no doubt aware, the government have today issued further warnings regarding the Coronavirus outbreak. The emphasis has been on avoiding non-essential contact with others. In light of this advice the club committee have decided that the club will be closed with immediate effect. We realise this is disappointing but feel that it is the only sensible course of action given the present circumstances. I will be in touch with all members when we a date to reopen the club is decided.
Best wishes,
Ian Davis
Secretary
