congratulation to Dazz Rose on winning this years Highlands and Islands Open with an impressive 45 flatfish mostly rays with Steve Souter winning on Sysac2 in a very close tussle with Gillies Mackenzie whom lost a nice turbot on surface which would have just beat steve, and another fine third place to George Bell whom landed a turbot to win his side of boat. tomorrow we have the start of the Western isles open where all species count .

This years EFSA loch Etive open was fished yesterday. Weather was changeable to say the least and a good bit cooler than of late along with occasional rain and strong gusts đź’¨
20 anglers fished off the Laura Dawn II and Craigalen, fishing was patchy due to the boat swinging about on anchor but still enough to keep everyone entertained with spurs, LSD’s, whiting, pout, poor cod, thornbacks and gurnard being landed. Biggest fish of the day goes to Ian Riddle with a spur over 80cm.
Congratulations to Ali Campbell, this years winner. After correcting a few of the results the other boat and side winners are-
Scott Gibson
Peter Redshaw
Derek Yuille

EFSA Scotland fished loch linhhe at the weekend. 14 anglers participated between the 2 days on board Angus Mann’s Jola IV from Corpach.
Day 1- fishing was steady all day despite the strong wind that wasn’t forecast ! Good numbers of thornbacks rays from the off with Stevie Burns and David Proudfoot taking most of the fish in the first few hours until the tide changed! Other species LSD’s, conger eel, whiting and spurdogs.
Day 2- weather was a lot better but less fish, possibly due to more skate homing in in the baits scaring all the other fish away!
Day 1 winner - Scott Gibson
Day 2 winner - Mark robertson
Overall winner - Scott Gibson

Thanks to Alister Robertson for organising and to Angus Mann for an enjoyable weekend, not forgetting deck hand Ian for providing the tea and netting the fish all day.
