As many of you know, Graham Smith stood down as Club President at our AGM in January. His impact on Victoria Park is immeasurable, he has been a dedicated member for around 50 years and served as Club President for most of the last 30.
Graham was awarded Life Membership in 2014, a testament not only to his outstanding achievements as a coach but also to his unwavering commitment to the club. Over the years, he has guided athletes to success at the World and European Junior Championships, the World Triathlon Championships, and the Scottish and National Cross Country Championships. He has also played a key role as Strength and Conditioning Coach for two members of the British 4x100m Relay Team and served as National Coach for 800m and 1500m athletes.
To mark the occasion of his standing down, current Club President Gordon Innes and Secretary Hugh Stevenson hosted a small gathering at the Burnbrae, joined by past Presidents Hugh Barrow and Albert Smith. It was a fitting tribute to a man who has given so much to our club and our athletes.
Thank you, Graham, for your incredible service, leadership, and dedication to Victoria Park!
