Sarah took on her first RX competition this past weekend…… and smashed it! šŸ’Ŗā£

Building her to this was a holistic process, not only have we physically built what she needed mentally a lot of work has been done. Confidence is your moments, weights and knowing your own capacity is a huge part of fitness. Combine that with some consistency and then your cooking on gas šŸ”„ ⁣

We all know that couple who constantly post about how perfect their relationship is, always commenting ā€˜I love you’ on every post and saying things like ā€˜my world šŸŒŽā€™ with pictures of their other half. But in reality we know these people, they are always arguing and their relationship is regularly on the brink of being over.⁣
⁣
It’s easy now to fake things on the internet or to ā€˜influence’ and change your internet presence to be what you want it to be. If someone consistently posts pictures, videos and stories about push ups you begin to think ā€˜well this guy is good at push ups’ the reality can be very different. ⁣
⁣
Some of the best coaches I’ve had the pleasure of meeting or being coached by don’t have a massive internet presence they aren’t posting reels every 5 seconds or inventing the next ā€˜must do’ exercise…….. this is mostly because they are actually coaching, honing their craft, learning how to cue different personalities, learning how movement looks on different body shapes, discovering what motivates different individuals. In essence they don’t have time or brain space for the Instagram life because they are too busy building their knowledge on the things that matter.⁣
⁣
Not saying their aren’t coaches out there that can do both…… just some food for thought, are they actually a good coach or are they just good at social media?⁣

This is a phrase that gets chucked around a lot now. But in reality is it that easy to do? When all your mates are hitting PBs because they max out every other day, when you are doing some accessory work while everyone hits a killer workout…. Or when everyone’s doing a big time pump sesh and you’re just hitting your 60min steady state workout⁣
⁣
This is the part of ā€˜trust the process’ that we aren’t talking about, you can’t just trust in the process. You have to trust your coach, you have to trust in your body, you have to trust in the knowledge your day to show what you’ve been working on will come…. That the wait will be worth it. ⁣

So for sure trust the process but be aware of the sacrifices and the work that the process requires⁣

Training is certainly a time to push yourself and we all know nothing good comes from comfort zones. However! There’s times we need to consider holding back on that full tilt send.⁣
⁣
Why?⁣
⁣
Because it might effect tomorrow’s training negatively, it might effect the weeks training negatively….. possibly the month. Doing that extra 5 pull ups and ripping your hand might get you a better time, it might look good on the leaderboard but when it comes to tomorrow’s workout and you struggle because your hands are killing then it wasn’t worth it.⁣

Consider every training session as preparation for the next one, when it’s competition time….. that’s when we do what we need to for the win!⁣

Worry is everywhere in your life (especially now) worrying about work, worrying about family, worrying about money, worrying about time, worrying about your responsibilities, even worrying about the littlest thing can impact you. Personally my biggest worry is trying to be a good person, upsetting people I’m close too wether that be my friends or relatives the feeling cripples me for days.⁣
Why I’m a talking about worry? Because in your training worry shouldn’t exist. If your coach has your back you’re good to go! If you fail a lift or don’t do as well as you think you should .... šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø... who cares! There’s always tomorrow. Training should be fun! Sure you want to do your best and push yourself but once you’ve done, walk away smile and come back tomorrow. Some days aren’t great but not every day can be PB day otherwise the PB’s wouldn’t be as special. So when you start your session kick the worry out, you don’t need it. ⁣
