After winning the toss and electing to bat, Cloughton struggled to build momentum and were bowled out for 96. Faced with defending a modest total, they responded with an outstanding display in the field.
Gaz Jordan struck early to finish with 3 wickets, while Ben Rowe provided excellent support with 2. Cloughton backed up their bowlers with sharp fielding and safe catching, with Exley and Aziz both holding important chances. Henry Ako was superb in the covers, saving valuable runs throughout.
Despite the low score, Cloughton never lost belief. The game went down to the wire, with Ganton needing 17 from the final 10 balls. Bradley’s 10 runs from 2 deliveries swung the momentum, but Hakings held his nerve in the final over.
With Ganton requiring 3 from the last 2 balls, Aziz took a crucial catch at long-on to dismiss Bradley allowing Hakings to bowl out and seal a dramatic victory by 2 runs for Cloughton.🏏
