Troutsdale hilly Time Trial attracted five accomplished riders from three local clubs, RCC represented by Jay Townsend and Edward Hall (and James). Usual course had to be shortened due to temporary traffic lights, everyone satisfied with their time, especially Edward and Darren. All riders opted for full time trial set-up to take advantage of the fast run-in from Snainton. Thanks to Dan Joyce for timekeeping. Next club events are 10 miles at Snainton on 29th July and 11th August.

Dear Member

At the AGM this year it was decided that as Debbie Richardson has moved on and Ian Richardson has sold his share in the bike shop it was time to look at our name. Members voted to keep our affiliation with the shop but to change our name to reflect our membership. The committee were given a long list of possible (and some not possible) names. Eventually these have been whittled down to go out to you the members to vote on. Please take the time to click on the link below and complete the survey monkey question to help us decide on a new name.

All entries must be complete by midnight on the 7th July,

Thank you for your time.

Many thanks

Lorraine (on behalf of the committee)

RCC time trial Thursday 1st July 2021

A hilly 14 miles round Troutsdale, start at 7.15pm. There are two sets of temporary traffic lights on the course, in order to avoid these the start is just after the lights by Hackness Grange hotel on Broxa Lane. The finish is just before the lights on Castelgate in Forge Valley approaching from Ayton, opposite the water trough.
Sign-on and numbers will near the finish, in the car park before the lights when approaching from Lady Edith’s Drive junction.
There are car parks either side of the temporary lights in Forge Valley or at Hackness village hall.

Club time trials start with two 10 mile events on Thursday 3rd June and Thursday 17th June.
The club needs at least two volunteers at each event to make these events happen. Please contact Paul Marr with your offer to volunteer.
The events start on the B1258 road just after the Wagon and Horses in Snainton.
Events start at 7.15 and riders need to have signed on by 7pm.
Riders must wear a helmet and their bike must have a working rear light.
Children under 18 years of age can enter but only if a parent gives written consent.
Volunteers will be asked to assist the timekeeper, or asked to stand by the road to indicate where the course changes direction.
The time commitment is around one hour plus travel time.
Other local cycling clubs are organising club time trials, Active Filey under CTT rules, Scarborough Paragon under TLI rules.
