We are an active diving and snorkelling club that was founded in the 1960s. We are a friendly and diverse club that has members with a wealth of diving experience and knowledge to help you start or progress with your diving journey with our qualified instructors. contact us today to enquire about our SCUBA try dive experience. The club house is full of history that has a large bar area for club meetings and events, training rooms and also air & nitrox fills facilities. The club has a hard boat in Scarborough Harbour & a rigid Inflatable boat (RIB) in Bridlington. During dive season we regularly dive of our amazing local coast as well planning dive trips around the UK and abroad.

🌍🏔️ An Epic Evening of Adventure!

It was fantastic to hear Matt, one of our members, share the story of his incredible expedition to climb Mount Kilimanjaro, the highest mountain in Africa, standing at an impressive 5,895 metres above sea level! 🏔️

Matt took us through his amazing journey, sharing stories from the climb along with some incredible photographs from the expedition and the safari that followed. 📸🦒🐘

A huge congratulations to Matt on such an incredible achievement! 👏🏔️ Reaching the summit of Kilimanjaro is no small feat, and it was brilliant to hear all about the challenge and experience.

Thank you to Matt for sharing his adventure with us. It was a fascinating evening and a great opportunity to hear about such an incredible experience!

🌊 Madam Ranee Wreck – Character Building! 🤿

A group of 12 divers headed out today to dive the Madam Ranee wreck.

Let’s just say the conditions were… interesting! 😂🌊

But as divers, we like to call that a character-building exercise. 💪🤿

Despite the challenging conditions, the team got stuck in, enjoyed the adventure and came away with another day on the water under our belts.

It’s not always about perfect viz and flat seas — sometimes it’s about getting out there, getting wet and having a bloody good story to tell afterwards! 😎

Well done to all 12 divers! 👏

Epic day on the water with a full boat of 10 divers and Ginny keeping everything running smoothly as Assistant Dive Manager! 🤿🌊
UK diving pulled out all the stops today with incredible marine life—heaps of vibrant nudibranchs, colorful sponges, and delicate hydroids.
Huge shoutout to today’s milestones:
Tracey nailed her Sports Diver SMB lesson.
Sammy logged her very first UK sea dive!
Camilla took the reins and dive-led her dive a pro.
Plus, a few lucky divers got hands-on experience skippering our brand-new club boat!

🌊 GIVING OUR DIVES A PURPOSE 🌊

For our snorkelers, it’s not just about getting in the water — it’s about giving their dives a purpose. 💙🤿

Our amazing snorkel team has been out along the coast removing rubbish, plastic, fishing line, rope and other marine debris that has found its way into our waters.

What started as a recreational snorkel becomes something much more meaningful when you come out of the water with bags full of rubbish that could otherwise harm our marine life. 🐟🦀🦞

Every piece we remove is one less piece of plastic threatening the wildlife and habitats we love.

Protecting our coastline, one dive at a time. 🌊💙

🦞🌊 Giving Back to Our Marine Environment 🌊🦞

It was a real honour for Scarborough Sub Aqua Club 83 to work alongside the Whitby Lobster Hatchery to help give hundreds of young lobsters a new home in the sea. 💙

From our club boat, we released a rescued berried female lobster and hundreds of baby lobsters onto a local wreck, helping them return to their natural marine environment.

As divers, we get to experience the incredible marine life that lives beneath our waters, and we’re proud to play our part in protecting and supporting it for the future.

🦞 One small release can make a big difference.

A huge thank you to the Whitby Lobster Hatchery for the amazing work they do and for allowing us to be part of this fantastic conservation effort.

🤿⚓ The ladies were definitely in charge today! 💙

A boat full of women divers heading out for some fantastic UK wreck diving off the Yorkshire coast 🌊⚓

The men were seriously outnumbered on this trip… although we’re not sure they were complaining! 😂

Brilliant to see so many women getting out on the boat, enjoying their diving and exploring the wrecks right on our doorstep.

💙 Yorkshire coast. UK wrecks. Great diving. Great company.

Snorkel with a purpose,litter pick but make it an adventure! 🌊🤿
Our snorkel crew hit Little Thornwick Bay last night on a mission to clean up the coast. The sea had other plans with conditions a bit rougher than forecast, so plan A was out—but the beach clean was ON!
We cleared Little Thornwick, hauled 3 full bags of trash up and over the cliff path to the more sheltered Thornwick Bay 😅, and jumped in for a snorkel in bay to the cave.
Ended the night with even more litter collected, plenty of laughs, and our team leader Spud getting… creative… with the haul 😂
