It has been Foggy here the last few nights - I expect it will be the same tonight so leave plenty of time

In addition there's a lot of flooding on the roads between Ravenscar and the Hayburn Wyke - if you are coming from the Whitby end I recommend that you bypass the Falcon turning and come up from the Cloughton side

Ravenscar Cricket Club 🏏 are starting to prepare for the 2026 season and would like to invite potential new players to join us for our next practice sessions - whether you are a player looking for a new club or someone just wanting to try the game with a friendly welcoming club we would love to see you.

Nets are booked every Saturday (excluding Easter) 14:00 - 15:00.

Nets start Saturday Saturday 21st February 2026 through to Saturday 25th April 2026. Venue = Bramcote Sports Hall at Scarborough College.

A big weekend of cricket this week as both teams are due to play their last league game of the season this Saturday against tough competition.

The first team entertain Glaisdale who are looking to bag the last couple of points that will ensure that they finish the season in runners up position and secure promotion.

The second team travel to Brompton who have already secured the runners up position and promotion.

Ravenscar will be looking to turn the form books upside down and finish the season on a high.

Come along and enjoy either game in the forecasted to be lovely sunny afternoon. Both games are scheduled to start at 13.30

Well after a high scoring game of cricket for the 2nd team they just failed to chase down 219 in their 40 overs - anyone wanting a less expansive game might want to take a trip to Derbyshire this weekend.

Ian Bestwick of Darley Abbey Cricket Club batted for 45 overs without scoring a run to secure a draw for his side.

Ravenscar Cricket Club 🏏 Update

A big weekend of cricket with both Ravenscar Teams in a "Head to Head" with Forge Valley

The first team travel to Forge Valley to play their first team - Amazingly for mid May this will be the first game of the Season played by the first team.

The second team entertains Forge Valley 2nd team at home in what is hoped will be the first home game of the Season - fingers 🤞 crossed that the weather forecasters are correct and we don't have the local mist and fog wanting to prove them wrong 🙈

Both games are scheduled to start at 13.30 - come along and enjoy (🤞) an afternoon in the sun watching your local team.

Ravenscar Cricket Club update 🏏

Disappointingly - despite all the good efforts of Dave, Will & Anthony on the ground - and with Mother Natures decision to finally introduce summer into 2024 - the First Team who were scheduled to play their first game of the season have had their home game cancelled as the Saxton Team have not been able to raise a Team 😕 - so another weekend with no game in Ravenscar

The second team will however be hoping to get their season off to a flying start with a trip to play "Malton and Old Malton" - so if you are passing by and want to catch a bit of cricket in the summer sun please come along (but remember your sun hat and "Hawaiian Tropic" lotion). Scheduled start time 13.30
