🏏🏏 Our 2nd Team got back to winning ways at home to Glaisdale Cricket Club 2nds.

Sam Wright (75) top scored for Glaisdale with a fine innings, sharing a 48 runs partnership with Sarah Bonnard (12). Tight bowling from Valley kept the run rate down as Glaisdale finished on a battling 123 all out, with Andy McAleese (4 for 15) and Aaron Kaya (2 for 23) having the pick of the bowling figures. Seb Richards and keeper Iestyn Jones held 2 catches apiece.

Jonathan Duffill (45 not out) and Jed Marley (42) shared a key 61 runs partnership for the 3rd wicket in the Valley reply. Aaron Kaya (25) and Steven Bates (10 not out) added runs as we totalled 125 for 3 wickets. Charlie Garrett (3 for 55) took the wickets for Glaisdale 🏏🏏

🏏🏏 Our 1st Team moved into 2nd place in The Yorkshire Premier League North Sponsored By Attis Insurance Ltd Division 2 table with a hard fought win at in-form Cloughton CC 1sts.

Charlie Ionascu (80, sponsored by DHI Design Dawn) and Liam Calvert (41, sponsored by Goathland Tea Rooms & Gift Shop) gave Valley a good platform, putting on 94 runs for the 1st wicket. Charlie Baldwin (45 not out), Joe Toulson (43, sponsor details below) and Dan Taylor (27, sponsored by IWE Services Electrical Contractors ) kept the runs flowing as we totalled 256 for 4 wickets. Jack Hakings (2 for 66) topped the bowling figures for Cloughton.

Ben Rowe (80) top scored for Cloughton in reply, with contributions from Jack Hakings (53) and Henry Atkinson (22 not out) as the hosts finished on 198 all out. Charlie Ionascu (4 for 32), Dan Taylor (1 for 1), Ben Fewster (1 for 2, sponsored by Bay View Mini Golf) and Zach Lloyd (1 for 19) were amongst the wickets for Valley.

🏆Our 1st team progressed in the T20 Dave Conner Trophy quarter finals with a home win against Middleton & North Dalton CC 1sts 🏆

Luke Calvert (37) helped get Valley off to a flying start, putting on 87 runs for the 1st wicket in partnership with Charlie Ionascu (sponsored by DHI Design Dawn). Charlie went on to score an impressive 86 from 52 balls including 14 boundaries. Dan Taylor (sponsored by IWE Services Electrical Contractors ) kept the runs flowing with a fine 75 not out from 37 balls including 12 boundaries, and Aron Calvert (23 not out) hit some quick runs at the end as we totalled 229 for 2 wickets. Tony Smith (1 for 34) and Jack Conner (1 for 42) took the wickets for Middleton.

Valley's bowlers kept things tight in the Middleton reply. Oliver Ramsay (38 not out), Harry Newlove (32) and Jack Conner (20) battled well as Middleton reached 130 for 6 wickets from their 20 overs. Wickets were shared out between Jed Marley (1 for 12), Dan Taylor (1 for 15), Luca Bamfield (1 for 21), Charlie Ionascu (1 for 25) and Steven Bates (1 for 30) in a good overall team performance.

We are in The Yorkshire Premier League North Sponsored By Attis Insurance Ltd action on Saturday. Our 1st team travel to Cloughton CC to play their 1st team and our 2nd team Welcome Glaisdale Cricket Club 2nds to Wilson's Lane 🏏🏏

🏆 On Sunday our 2nd team are in cup action away at Malton and Old Malton Cricket Club in the Midgley Cup 🏆

Our 2nd Team were on the road again at Thornton Dale CC 2nds.

Paul Waring (17) got some early runs on the board for the hosts before a superb 110 runs partnership between Andy Parsons (71) and Callum Walters (47) put their team firmly in the driving seat. Zach Lloyd (3 for 28), Will Tindall (2 for 6) and Ben Fewster (2 for 30, sponsored by Bay View Mini Golf) bowled tidy spells as Thornton Dale finished on an imposing 181 for 7 wickets.

Valley lost early wickets in reply before Will Tindall (31) and Iestyn Jones (17) showed some resistance. Luca Bamfield (18) and Finn Beckham-Richards (17) added late runs in a battling performance as Valley fell short on 124 all out, with Callum Walters (5 for 20) and Harry Parsons (3 for 30) causing most of the damage for Thornton Dale.

Our 1st Team hosted in-form Cayton CC 1sts, looking to continue their winning run.

Cayton batted first and were well placed at 121 for 3 before a cluster of wickets saw them finish on 161 all out, including runs from Simon Glave (44), Luke Love (32) and Paul Pennock (22). Alex Glass (5 for 20) and Steven Bates (2 for 14) took the bulk of the wickets for Valley.

Liam Calvert (30, sponsored by Goathland Tea Rooms & Gift Shop) and Charlie Ionascu (19, sponsored by DHI Design Dawn) got Valley off to a steady start in reply. Joe Toulson (48, sponsor details below) and Charlie Baldwin (47 not out) kept the runs flowing as Valley totalled 163 for 3 wickets to claim the points. Callum Lumsdon (2 for 44) had the best of the bowling figures for Cayton.
