Linda joined us over 5 years ago after having a hip replacement.
She started CrossFit following a hip replacement for osteoarthritis, with one big motivation — she wanted to stay strong and active and, ideally, avoid having the other hip replaced.
One of her original goals was to be strong enough to go climbing with her grandchildren.
She did it.
Since then, she’s gone zip-lining in Wales, tackled the inflatables at Wykeham Lakes with her grandchildren and continues to give new challenges a go.
Her journey hasn’t always been consistent due to her health, but as Linda says:
“I show up when I am able to.”
She feels stronger in everyday life and loves the small, friendly and supportive group environment.
Her advice to anyone starting their fitness journey?
“I may not be as strong or fast as the younger generation but will give anything a go. If I cannot manage then there are other options.”
And we love this:
“I want to be around so I can spend all my hard earned savings and enjoy my retirement to the full.”
😂❤️
That’s what fitness is really about.
Being strong enough to enjoy your family, your hobbies and your retirement.
You don’t have to be fit to start. Just give it a go.
