My heart is still aching after the loss of such an inspirational teacher and friend.
Kay and her husband Dennis were friends to my grandparents, and they would attend the popular dances that Kay and Dennis held at the Market Hall.
Both Kay and Dennis then taught my Mum ballet, tap and ballroom, and then me - the third generation.
I remember Kay so vividly from my first dance classes at The Gannon Rooms in Saxmundham. I fell in love with dance, and with her immediately, and that love, respect and longing to make her proud only grew as I did.
Hearing of her loss at our show at The Cut, was painful, but beautiful. Being in her hometown of Halesworth, with her dance schools legacy continuing through our Halesworth classes, joined with our Saxmundham classes - where I started my journey with Kay - and we were all doing what Kay loved, being covered head to toe in sequins and dancing our hearts out - was kind of perfect and serendipitous.
I said at five years old “I’m going to be a dance teacher just like Kay…” Kay taught me to be a dance teacher just like myself.

Kay Page, who ran the Kay Goddard School of Theatre Dance, in Beccles has died at the age of 98.
