Another way to explore Kapalabhati Pranayama ✨

This energising breath is traditionally practised with active exhales and relaxed, natural inhales — helping us reconnect with the body, clear the mind, and awaken our inner vitality.

✨ Benefits of this pranayama:

• Boosts energy and alertness
• Clears mental fog and supports focus
• Creates warmth and stimulates inner fire
• Encourages strength, clarity, and presence
• Helps release tension and stagnant energy

How to practise:

• Sit comfortably with a tall spine
• Take a gentle inhale through the nose
• Begin short, active exhales through the nose
• Allow the inhales to happen naturally
• Keep the chest open, arms extended overhead, with thumbs pointing up
• Practise for 30–60 seconds, then pause and observe

Avoid this practice if you are pregnant, have uncontrolled high blood pressure, heart disease, epilepsy, vertigo, abdominal conditions, or any condition that may be aggravated by rapid breathing.

It always amazes me how something as simple as the breath can bring us back to ourselves. ✨

For a long time, I thought Skull Shining Breath and Breath of Fire were two different breathing techniques… until I discovered they are actually the same yogic practice: Kapalabhati Pranayama.

There are many variations of this breath — in this reel I’m sharing one of them — but the essence remains the same: active exhalations and natural inhalations.

In Sanskrit, kapala means “skull” and bhati means “to shine” or “to illuminate” — a beautiful reflection of the clarity and awakening this practice is traditionally associated with.

I love coming back to Kapalabhati whenever I feel low in energy, mentally foggy, or in need of a reset.

In yogic tradition, this pranayama is said to awaken Agni — our inner fire — and activate Manipura Chakra, the energy centre connected with confidence, transformation, and personal power.

(Reel 1 of 2 ✨)
Tomorrow I’ll share another way to explore the same practice 🌬️😉

Do you know those days when you wake up feeling sluggish, your body feels heavy, and your mind struggles to get going?

On days like that, I often turn to Breath of Joy.

This energising pranayama helps boost energy levels, clear mental fog, reduce stress, and release tension from the body. Just a few rounds can leave you feeling more awake, present, and uplifted.

How to practise:

• Take 3 short inhalations through the nose as you sweep the arms up.
• Exhale through the mouth as you fold forward and let everything go, making a gentle “ha” sound as you sigh it out.
• Repeat for 5–10 rounds, or for up to 3 minutes.

While Breath of Joy can be incredibly uplifting, it isn’t suitable for everyone. Avoid this practice if you have uncontrolled high blood pressure, a heart condition, vertigo, have recently had surgery, or are pregnant.

Sometimes, a few conscious breaths are all it takes to change the course of your day. 🌬️✨

Every now and then, I need to sit with this little girl and remind her of a few things:

That she is worthy, loved, and perfect exactly as she is. Her heart was broken so many times that, somehow, she began to believe otherwise.

The rushed, hostile, and frightening world made her feel so unprotected that fear arose to keep her safe — but it also stopped her from living freely.

Now, I am here to look after her. She is not alone, and she never will be again.

I’m here to tell her that she married someone truly special, and from the love she found, she gave birth to a beautiful boy who made her a mother.

She once dreamed of becoming an actress so she could experience different lives within her own skin. But she couldn’t imagine herself moving to a bigger city, far away from her small hometown, where more opportunities could exist. And yet, she crossed an ocean and went far beyond anything she could ever have imagined.

And now, I’m here to tell her that although she didn’t become the actress she once imagined, she still lived beautiful experiences through art and drama. Only now, the stage she belongs to is a flat mat, barefoot, with no masks to wear.

This little girl and the woman she became are one — finally ready to live life on her own terms. 💫
