⚽ MINIS & JUNIORS WEEKEND ROUND-UP ⚽
A brilliant weekend of youth football across the board! Fantastic effort from all our minis out on the pitch giving it their all, alongside some stellar performances and character from our junior teams. Here is how the age groups got on:
⚽ Under 8s
Played at St Clears and put in excellent work across their five mini matches, showing great teamwork and spirit. Special praise went to goalkeepers Mikey, Osian, Jake, Oscar, and Eddie for wonderful saves and distribution, with goals on the day from Jake, Darius, and Alfie. Opposition player of the match went to Darius, while coach's player of the match went to Alfie for fantastic strength, confidence, and movement. Highlights included a stunning cross from Jake for Darius to sweep into the bottom corner, and a brilliant midfield passing triangle between Alfie, Osian, and Iolo!
⚽ Under 9s
Played away against Hundleton and gave a really good account of themselves in very rainy conditions against a well-established side, giving them a proper run for their money. A massive Man of the Match performance went to Austin! He was exceptional in goal, making brilliant saves with quick distribution and great decision-making to turn defence into attack in an instant—Alisson Becker (23/24 season) would have been proud! Sending all our best wishes for a speedy recovery to Jim, who was gutted to come off but definitely needs to rest that knee for a few weeks!
⚽ Under 12s
Put in a fantastic performance to secure a brilliant 4–2 win! After going behind early on, the lads showed incredible character—bouncing back with goals from Lloyd, Ollie, Albie, and an instinctive near-post header from Jaxon (following great build-up play and an assist whipped in by Austin). Excellent teamwork and resilience all round, with Jaxon taking home Man of the Match, while Dai and Charlie Cope were also right in the running with stellar displays! A massive thank you to Jonathan Bennett for his fantastic sponsorship of the boys' kit—the team were absolutely chuffed to wear it out on the pitch for the very first time on Saturday!
⚽ Under 13s
Had a tough battle against a very good Tenby side. While the result didn't go their way, the boys kept going right to the final whistle—which is all a coach can ask for—with the difference coming down to Tenby winning their 1v1s and competing for the second ball. Huge congratulations to Tyler Lightwood, who earned Man of the Match for his outstanding resilience and determination throughout the entire game! 💪
Massive well done to every single player, coach, and supporter representing the club this weekend. Up the NHSU! 🔴🔵
