⚽️ NEW U7s TEAM - PLAYERS & COACHES WANTED! ⚽️

We are incredibly excited to be launching a brand-new Under-7s team at New Hedges Saundersfoot United FC, but we need your help to make it happen!

Who are we looking for?

The Players: Children who will be going into Year 2 this coming September (born between 1st September 2019 and 31st August 2020). Whether they are already football-mad or just want to try something new, have fun, and make some mates, we would absolutely love to see them.

The Coaches & Helpers: A great grassroots team runs on brilliant volunteers. Crucially, this new team can only go ahead if we have parents step up to lead and coach the squad. No previous coaching experience is needed—just enthusiasm! The club will support you every step of the way with training and guidance.

What: U7s Open Training & Meet-Up

When: Sunday 5th July at 2:00 PM

Where: King George V Playing Fields, Saundersfoot

What to bring: Football boots, shin pads, and a big bottle of water!

Just come on down on the day, say hello, and let the kids have a kickabout while the adults have a chat about how they can get involved to ensure this team can kick off.

New Hedges/Saundersfoot United's charity evening was a brilliant success - a wonderful night of stories, laughs and community spirit raising money for the incredible Maxwell Family Genomics Fund and Sandy Bear Children's Bereavement Charity 💛

Welsh rugby legend Shane Williams was an absolute gentleman throughout, comedian Lenny Dee had the room in stitches, and the support shown by the Pembrokeshire community was truly something special! The final fundraising total is still being counted - we can't wait to hear it! 🙌

What an incredible evening!

On behalf of everyone at NHSU, we'd like to extend a huge thank you to everyone who attended our Charity Evening on Saturday and helped make it such a fantastic success.🫶

The support shown by our community was truly overwhelming. From purchasing tickets, raffle tickets and auction items, to simply turning up and creating such a wonderful atmosphere, your generosity and support were remarkable. We hope everyone who attended enjoyed the evening as much as we did.

A special thank you must go to our guest speaker, Shane Williams. Not only is he one of the greatest rugby players Wales has ever produced, but he was an absolute gentleman throughout the evening. His humility, honesty and willingness to spend time with everyone in attendance perfectly demonstrated why he is so respected both on and off the field.

We would also like to thank the brilliant Lenny Dee, who once again had the room in stitches from start to finish. His humour, energy and professionalism helped make the evening one to remember.

A heartfelt thank you also goes to Marty Jones from Sandy Bear, who spoke passionately about the incredible work the charity does and highlighted exactly how events like this help support families and young people through difficult times. He even found the time to snap some incredible photos of the evening.👏

🚨 VENUE CHANGE: SUNDAY U12s OPEN SESSION 🚨

The Welsh weather has beaten the grass! Following the heavy rain overnight and this morning, we are officially moving tomorrow’s Under-12s open session to our backup venue: Tenby Greenhill 3G pitch (Greenhill School, Heywood Lane, Tenby, SA70 8BN).

Here is everything you need to know for the morning:

Timings: Please arrive from 10:30 AM to get signed in. The session runs from 11AM to 12PM.

Arrival & Registration: Head straight to the registration desk first. We will sign you in, hand out a name tag, and give your child their pre-allocated coloured bib.

What to Bring: Please make sure your child brings a full water bottle and is wearing shin pads (these are mandatory for safety).

Weather Prep: There is a 50/50 chance of rain during the session. Please ensure players are dressed for the weather; pack a light rain jacket, consider a base layer underneath their top, and bring a towel for the car ride home just in case!

Parent Area & Refreshments: Parking is very easy with plenty of spaces available. Once parked, we kindly ask all parents to stand behind the green barriers at all times during the session. We will have a stand running with coffee/tea and a cupcake for £2 (cash only) to keep you warm on the sidelines!

Post-Session: When we wrap up at noon, everyone is invited back to the Saundersfoot Sports and Social Club. You get a brilliant 10% discount on food and drinks, so come along and warm up!

👟 STRICT FOOTWEAR RULES FOR THE 3G PITCH 👟
Because we are on the 3G surface, South Wales Sports Grounds rules apply to protect the pitch (see the 2nd image in this post):
✅ YES: Moulded studs (plastic/rubber)
❌ NO: Metal studs, removable screw-in studs, or hybrid soles.
❌ NO: Flat indoor trainers
❌ NO: Dimpled 'Astro' trainers
