Many thanks to everyone that has supported the 2025/26 winter series whether you were a paddler, organiser, helper or parent bringing your kids along.

Big congratulations to Holly who won the series and is this year’s winner of the Neil Caffrey Rose Bowl!

The paddlers raced in the sunshine, which just added to the great family atmosphere that the winter series is all about.

Hope you’re all looking forward to the 2026/27 Winter Series!

Great start to the Winter Race Series - the first time we have tried this in several years. 22 entries and the handicap system allowed different division paddlers to race against each other. Mincepies, mulled wine and sunshine helped!

Next race 18th January at Aberfeldy.

*DIARY DATE - SLALOM CEILIDH - SAT 31st JANUARY 2026

CRCats will be hosting our annual ceilidh on Saturday 31st January ‘26 at the Devonvale Hall in Tillicoultry. Doors open at 6.30 for first dance at seven, with last dance around 10.30.

We would like to invite the slalom community to join us for a get together away from the river bank. We hope that the journey won’t put folks off, but we understand the weather can play a big role as well! 🌧️ 💨 ❄️

The Devonvale Hall has its own bar, so please don’t bring your own (as it will upset them!)

Remember and bring snacks to keep the energy level high for all the dancing!

Tickets will be £25 for a family and £10 per adult, and payable on the night, but please reply either to the Spond invite or to [email protected] to let us know that you’re coming along.

As a club we’re lucky to have the Devonvale Hall on our doorstep which makes a great ceilidh venue, but if other clubs want to host the 2027 ceilidh just let us know!

Sunday 2nd November – Pinkston Watersports On Sunday 2nd November, Michael organised the first Johnny Brown Memorial Day with something on offer for all paddlers from Flat water sessions, one pump, two pump and three pump sessions culminating in a Speed Slalom of 16 gates. It was a dry but cold and windy day. It was lovely to see so many paddlers and coaches come together and enjoy paddling....

To date, the Johnny Brown memorial fund stands at £5,500. As Johnny would have wanted, the fund will be used to benefit paddlers who are just starting out on their Canoe Slalom journey to those who are racing for GB team places and everyone in between. Johnny loved seeing paddlers progress not only in Canoe Slalom but in all aspects of their lives through the life skills they learn through training and racing locally, at Grandtully and Pinkston and also what was the highlight of the year for Johnny, taking a trip to paddle in France and other European countries....
