🏏 Match Summary – Hawarden vs Westminster Park CC
What a game! We don’t have the words to describe that performance. It was a fantastic team effort from start to finish, with every single player contributing with the bat, the ball, or in the field.
Our batting was outstanding. A special mention goes to Idris, who played a superb innings of 29 runs, including five boundaries and a huge six. He was brilliantly supported by Iwan (25) and Vyan (21), who kept the scoreboard moving and ensured we finished with an excellent total of 354/6.
With the ball, the team showed great discipline, consistently bowling to the stumps and maintaining an excellent line and length. Stan produced his best bowling performance of the season when it mattered most, showing great control and confidence under pressure.
We also have to give a special mention to Iwan, who was simply outstanding with the ball, taking 4 crucial wickets. One of those wickets was particularly special, dismissing a batter who had not been out all season and who also plays county cricket. It was a brilliant moment and a testament to Iwan’s skill and determination.
The fielding matched the bowling and batting, with excellent energy, commitment and teamwork throughout the innings. Every run saved and every ball chased made a difference.
Westminster Park C.C are a very strong side and gave us a fantastic game, but the team rose to the occasion and produced one of our best all round performances of the season. We finished on 354/6, restricting Westminster Park to 301/7 to secure a memorable victory.
Every player should be immensely proud of the effort, teamwork and character they showed. A truly outstanding performance from an amazing group of young cricketers. 👏🏏💙
