Lately, I have been focusing on this movement. I just want to highlight how our core should be controlled in every spinal position—**flexion, neutral, and especially extension**—to support our daily functional movements. Let’s keep practicing in class!

How are you? I miss you all! Sorry, I've been away for a month to study. It's been a very fruitful trip with the latest science and research, and can't wait to integrate them into the classes.

Hope you are still at least practicing breathing at home. Are you ready to resume our routine next Monday 30Sep with a more integrated approach? Can't wait to see you all on the Mat & Reformer!

Here is the latest class schedule to cater to more requests and Oct - Reformer Induction Course is now open for booking.

Starting on 20Aug, we'll be offering a new Beginner Mat class every Tuesday at 18:30.

This class is designed for those new to Pilates, focusing on fundamental principles and exercises. You'll learn basic movements, proper alignment, and breathing techniques, all essential for building a solid foundation for more advanced practice. Regular Mat classes are recommended to join after completing at least 4 Beginner Mat classes.

Apologize to those who have recently started, as you'll need to pause your routine for a month from 31Aug as I will be away for a study leave, classes will resume on 30Sep.

Posture alignment is crucial for maintaining balance and preventing musculoskeletal issues. Different postural deviations like kyphosis, lordosis, swayback, and flat back affect the spine's natural curvature and can lead to discomfort or injury.

Effective posture correction involves not only temporary fixes like stretching or muscle activation but also long-term habits that promote proper alignment of the head, trunk, and hips. This includes ensuring the center of mass is balanced and the body is aligned correctly from head to toe.

This is exactly what we're focusing on with the Mat and Reformer exercises – building awareness through movement to correct those compensatory 'strategies'!

Enjoy a wonderful summer!

Don't worry if you can't find any available classes to book in September — I will be back in Asia from 31st August to 29th September for further study - myokinematic restoration & Women's health.

This will help me bring more in-depth knowledge to my teaching and maximize the benefits of Pilates-driven movement for everyone in the class on the Mat & all the Pilates equipment.

Two areas that I will focus on

1. **Postural Influences**:
- Rib torsion
- Asymmetrical oblique strength
- Inconsistent breathing patterns
- Habitual use of accessory respiratory musculature
- Positionally restricted diaphragm (my favourite area of study!)

This will allow me to offer a more holistic movement approach for those with thoracic outlet syndrome and shoulder dysfunction, which are increasingly common among class participants, as well as myokinematic restoration, especially pelvic-femoral alignment.

2. **Women’s Health Pilates Specialist ™**:
- Taught by Carolyne Anthony, founder of The Center for Women’s Fitness
- Pilates for Menopause™
- Support your Floor™ (Pelvic Floor Training)
- The Center Method for Diastasis Recti Recovery™
- Rocking and Rolling Myofascial Release™
- Prenatal and Postnatal Preparation and Recovery Program

It saddens me to see many women's bodies not healing properly after pregnancy, often without their knowledge yet it's apparent through their movements. This motivates me to deepen the skills and integrate them into my teaching, hoping every woman in the class will benefit.

And men too, considering how much we sit every day! Additionally, pelvic floor exercises are recommended for all patients pre/undergoing prostate surgery or prostate cancer treatment to reduce side effects.
