🏀 September Basketball – Spaces Available! 🏀

Are you ready for the new season?

We can't wait to get back on court as we prepare for another exciting year in the East Kent Youth Basketball League!

We currently have spaces available across a number of our junior teams, so there's never been a better time to join the Baypoint Basketball family.

Whether you're completely new to basketball or already have playing experience, our qualified Basketball England coaches bring a wealth of knowledge from a variety of playing and coaching backgrounds. Their focus is on helping every player develop their skills, build confidence, compete, and most importantly, enjoy the game.

🏀 Teams available:
• Under 10's (Years 1–5)
• Under 12's (Years 6–7)
• Under 14's (Years 8–9)
• Under 16's (Years 10–11)
• Girls (Years 7–11)

🏆 🏀 East Kent Basketball Finals 🏀 🏆

We are incredibly proud to share that not 1……… but 2 of our coaches have made the EKBA Finals tomorrow!!!

Not only do our coaches boss at coaching, but they also play ball like a pro 💪🏀

Coach Jo is playing in the ‘Ladies Plate Final’ at 10am for Thanet Lionesses Basketball.

Coach Emre is playing in the ‘Men’s Adam’s Plate Final’ at 12pm for Canterbury Kings Mens Basketball.

The games are being hosted at Canterbury College Sports Centre.

We want to say a massive thank you to all the incredible organisations who helped make our Winter HAF programme so special for the children and families involved.

🎟️ Brentford FC for donating match tickets and giving one of our HAF families an unforgettable experience
🧸 Keel Toys for the gorgeous cuddly toys
🎁 The Entertainer for their generous box of toys
🍎 Tesco for donating food, with the children loving the fresh fruit and vegetables for snacks and enjoying getting hands-on preparing them
🎢 Hornby for donating a family pass to the DreamWorks Experience
🎈 ABC Inflatables for going above and beyond and creating such a magical setup
🚌 Babyliss Coaches for safely transporting children from our other sites to Baypoint so they could enjoy our Winter Wonderland

Events Manager – Baypoint Sports & Community Hub
Location: Sandwich, Kent
Type: Full-Time / Permanent
Hours: Flexible (includes evenings & weekends as needed)
Ready to take the lead on events that actually matter to the community? Baypoint is looking for a driven, dynamic Events Manager to lead our growing programme of sports, wellness, social and corporate events. From grassroots tournaments to business networking, charity fundraisers to family fun days, weddings to FA football courses— if it happens at Baypoint, it runs through you.
We’re not a corporate hotel or a function room for hire. Baypoint is a not-for-profit community club sitting on 17 acres of sports and event space, and we’re on a mission to bring people together — from FA football courses to summer fairs and pickleball tournaments.
What you’ll be doing:
• Planning and delivering a diverse calendar of events
• Managing bookings, logistics and on-the-day operations
• Coordinating with clubs, hirers, charities, schools and corporate partners
• Promoting events and growing participation
• Managing budgets, suppliers and post-event evaluation
• Making Baypoint the go-to venue in East Kent
What you’ll need:
• Event management experience
• Excellent organisation and people skills
• Confidence handling multiple events across a big site
• A proactive mindset – we want ideas, not just checklists
• Willingness to work the weekend or evening (it’s events, after all)

🌟 We can’t believe we’re heading into the final week of HAF 2025 already! 🌟
We’re so excited to welcome everyone back after the Bank Holiday, remember, HAF will restart on Tuesday 26th August and run until Friday 29th August.
Next week is packed full of fun and activities across all of our sites, including:

🚀 Workshops with The STEM Hub
