At Royal St George’s, the dining room is as much a part of the day as the golf itself.

The 12th at Sandwich reveals its true character in the low casting shadows - revealing the humps and hollows that make the shortest par-4 on the course unpredictable.

Originally, the hole was called “Lemonade or Gingerbeer,” a nod to the time when vendors from Bay Road served refreshments on the tee.

Today, the Halfway Hut is located beside the green.

Also known as Hogsback, the second at Sandwich is a sweeping right-to-left dogleg with two bunkers waiting on the corner, it rewards a confident drive - whether taking them on or playing smart to the right.
