🌊 Drowning Prevention Week: Helping Everyone Enjoy Water Safely
RLSS UK’s Drowning Prevention Week is here, an annual campaign dedicated to giving children and young people the lifesaving skills they need to stay safe around water.
Each June, the campaign reaches children aged 5 to 17 with essential water safety education, just before the summer holidays when they’re spending more time outdoors, around pools, lakes, rivers, and the coast. These skills genuinely save lives.
At Kore, we’re proud to support this mission.
Water should be enjoyed confidently, safely, and with the right knowledge.
Why water safety matters
• Drowning is one of the leading causes of accidental death in children.
• Most incidents are preventable with simple, practical safety awareness.
• Building confidence in and around water helps young people enjoy swimming and aquatic activities safely.
How Kore is supporting safer swimmers;
Our swimming lessons are designed to build strong, confident swimmers from the very first splash. Across Kore sites, we offer:
• Beginner to advanced lessons for children and young people
• Qualified instructors trained in water safety and RLSS-aligned standards
• A focus on confidence, awareness, and safe decision‑making around water
Whether your child is taking their first steps into the pool or developing more advanced skills, our programmes help them stay safe not just in lessons, but wherever they encounter water.
Let’s work together to make this summer a safe one.
