Shanklin & Sandown Golf Club Isle of Wight 18 Hole picturesque heathland Golf Course for members and visitors to enjoy.

The course is maintained to a very high standard and our greens are regularly hand mowed, providing an excellent putting surface. There are fantastic views of the surrounding downs at every turn, providing a truly beautiful aesthetic backdrop to the course. The free draining heathland soil ensures it is playable throughout the year providing, without doubt, an outstanding place to play golf in any season. Shanklin & Sandown is ranked 7th in Hampshire by the the Top 100 Golf Courses of the World. We have also been rated as one of the Britain’s best 100 Courses under £50 (National Club Golfer - February 2012). Besides playing the course, visitors can enjoy full use of the modern Clubhouse, the 19th hole, our fully catered dining facilities and our elevated balcony overlooking the par 3 ninth hole. Visit our well stocked Pro Shop where we provide a wide range of golf clothing and equipment, combined with expert tuition by our golf team headed by our Resident Professional Peter Hammond.

TETLOW SALVERS

The Tetlow Salvers Mixed Competition was held at Shanklin & Sandown Golf Club on Sunday, 16th August, with 12 teams (24 players) taking part on a warm and sunny day.

It proved to be an extremely close competition, with the top three pairs all finishing on 39 points, meaning the result had to be decided on countback.

Third place went to Neil & Bea Janes, with 19 points on the back nine.

Second place went to Aidie Adams & Jo Kirby, with 20 points on the back nine and 14 points on the back six.

Taking first place and the Tetlow Salvers were Roy Truman & Christine O’Brien, who also scored 20 points on the back nine but edged ahead with 15 points on the back six.

The Tetlow Salvers were presented to Roy and Christine by Ladies’ Captain Vicki Guildford, rounding off an enjoyable and closely contested day of mixed golf at Shanklin & Sandown.

Well done to our North Hants Plate team who successfully beat Wellow 3-0 today at home. We are now into the semi-finals and will either play Corhampton or Weybrook Park.

Congratulations to our Club Captain, Tim, on a fantastic achievement at the Sandown & Shanklin Vase.

Not only did Tim lead his team to victory in the competition, but he also secured the Individual Trophy with an outstanding performance.

A tremendous result and a testament to his leadership, commitment, and golfing ability. Everyone at Lee on Solent Golf Club will be proud of this excellent achievement.
