Bagthorpe athletic 3-0 Sandiacre Cyclones

Our lack of games recently showed a bit today, hopefully the weather picks up and we can get some consistency again. A physical game against bagthorpe where we had a few chances in the first half that we couldn't quite capitalise on ended up being the 🧤 Charlie (The big C) Draycott show! An absolutely brilliant performance in goal today tipping shots over the bar, some reflex saves and at least 3 one on one saves where he did exactly what we've been working on closing down the striker spreading himself making himself big, great to see! Great performance Charlie who ended up with 🏆MOTM and 🏆Supporters player this week in a Cyclones first! Well done

Plenty to work on in training and we go again next week against West Bridgeford!

Sandiacre Cyclones 6-1 Moorgreen Colts Dev

Fantastic win in today's 8 aside friendly against Moorgreen. We dominated the game today and played most of it in the opposition half.

⚽George got the first of his 2 goals after being set up well by 🤝Dom, George powered his effort from inside the box into the far corner.

🧤Alfie made a great save low down to push the ball round the post and keep it 1-0, "they've got superman in goal" was the shout from one of the opposition players 🤣

⚽Charlie was next on the score sheet with his first goal in just his 2nd game for us! The ball fell to him in the box and he struck a cracking effort bound for the back of the net but for a brilliant save by the keeper, the rebound fell nicely for him to finish well.

⚽ George got his second after being played in by 🤝 Tom, he toe poked into the far corner.

⚽Tom got the first of his 3 early in the 2nd half after some great work by Dom on the wing, he put a great cross in and Tom made no mistake finishing well.

⚽Tom's second came from some great work by 🤝Ryan who, as he did all afternoon won the ball back as the opposition were trying to break before laying off for Tom to curl a brilliant effort from outside the box into the top corner.

⚽ Tom sealed a brilliant hatrick and showed what a big signing he's going to be next season after Ryan played a great pass to 🤝 George who played a brilliant ball through to Tom to finish into the bottom corner.

Kalan Alfie Freddie and Oli all played important roles meaning the opposition rarely had a sight of goal today, we were very organised at the back.

🏆🧤 Charlie went in goal for the 2nd half and made a few good saves to go along with his goal and earn him supporters player of the week

🏆 Ryan's effort and resilience in midfield didn't go unnoticed today, he was brilliant in the air winning several headers around our box and regularly broke down the opposition attacks also getting an assist and was today's man of the match.

Sandiacre Cyclones 1-5 East Leake Bantams Orange

Tough game against a well organised East Leake team that have been playing a couple of divisions above us and been together a lot longer.

Great start to the game when Georges corner was brilliantly won by 🤝 Alfie who knocked the ball into ⚽Dom's path who brilliantly back heeled to put us 1-0 up. A couple of good goals by East Leake put them 2-1 up before Charle B broke free and came so close to a debut goal but a great peice of goalkeeping kept him out. 2nd half East leakes experience showed and they ended up scoring 3 more to make it 5-1.

🧤Charlie D had a busy morning in goal and pulled off a couple of absolutely brilliant saves to keep us in the game. A reflex save from a powerful shot destined for the bottom corner was firmly pushed around the post was one of the highlights of the game! Great save 🧤

🏆 Kalan was supporters player of the week this week with some absolutely brilliant defending, he got stuck in at every opportunity and was in the right place at the right time more than once when the ball was loose in the area. Well done Kalan!

🏆Dom was man of the match, his brilliant goal put us 1-0 up and he worked hard today closing players down. He was also very unselfish today putting other players in for some good chances. Well done Dom.

Sandiacre Cyclones 0 - 4 Gonerby Blue

But of a rougher game than we're used to today! Short of players everyone played a full match and did really well to stay in the game and keep it level until the last 10 mins. Towards the end we ran out of steam, not having any subs made it difficult and we ended up losing 4-0.

🏆 Charlie was absolutely brilliant in goal today, commanding his area stopping a couple of 1 v 1s, collecting loose balls and then keeping out a number of long shots as well. He also got stuck in when he came out and played in defense towards the end. Charlie was voted supporters player of the match this week, well done.

🏆Oli was our man of the match today, playing in the centre of midfield he got stuck in all game winning numerous 50/50s and also went on a few runs skillfully taking it by opposition players, great effort all game and kept going until the end. Well done Oli!

Phoenix Inham Apollo 1 - 2 Sandiacre Cyclones

After last week's disappointment in the cup we managed to pull out an amazing performance today to make it 2 wins in 3 matches.

We came out battling from the off and started brilliantly with ⚽ George continuing his goalscoring form after being played in by 🤝 Freddie. George finished with a powerful shot into the bottom corner leaving the keeper with no chance.

Another brilliant goal this time from ⚽ Ryan, after winning the ball in the middle of the (very large) pitch he managed to dribble the whole half taking on at least 2 or 3 players before smashing a shot into the far corner to make it 2-0

🧤 Charlie pulled off some great saves today and commanded his box brilliantly, save of the game was a brilliant reflex save turning a powerful shot destined for his near bottom corner around the post.

Phoenix then pulled it back to 2-1 but the boys kept there heads up, Dom narrowly missed out on man of the match today, his ball control and effort was brilliant today but just couldn't quite get the goal his performance deserved.

In the end some resolute defending from Haz, kalan, Oli , Alfie and especially today's man of the match 🏆 Freddie meant we held out for a great win.

Supporters player was 🏆Ryan for his great energy getting box to box winning balls and scoring a great goal.

Sandiacre Cyclones 2-4 Bilborough Town

We didn't really seem to get going today and sat a bit deep inviting the opposition on to us but still managed a close game against Bilborough and it could easily have been a different result if a couple of unfortunate scrappy goals hadn't found the back of our net.

George was man of the match today after another great effort up front 🏆 with lots of closing down and pressing and 2 great goals. The first was after some good work by Ryan 🤝who took it past a player or 2 before picking ⚽ George out with a great pass who finished brilliantly.

⚽George did brilliantly to get second after winning the ball he smashed a powerful shot straight through the keeper.

🏆Alfie was the other stand out performer today with a brilliant effort at the back thwarting numerous attacks with some great tackles and his energy was key to us today!

Well done Alfie and George.

Mansfield Athletic 2 - 3 Sandiacre Cyclones

Great game to come back to! Wasn't sure what to expect with the YEL putting us up against a team 2 divisions above us but everyone seemed to be on it! Some counter attacking football Steve Cooper would have been happy with today 🤣

⚽⚽⚽ George with an absolutely brilliant hatrick, could have been 5 but for a couple of really close efforts. His perfectly timed runs in behind were being picked out by numerous players when we were breaking out from defence.

The first one was played across to George by 🤝 Dom and George finished with a powerful shot the keeper couldn't keep out.

🤝 Alfie claimed the 2nd assist after doing brilliantly winning the ball strongly as ever, then taking on 2 players and playing a perfectly weighted ball into George to run on to who slotted past the keeper confidently.

That put us 2-0 up but Mansfield came back strongly and pulled us back to 2-2.... That was until our third, this one was all George who won the ball in midfield, burst through and absolutely smashed it into the top corner.

🧤 Charlie did absolutely brilliantly to keep us in the game, at one point when the game could have gone either way he managed to dive and tip a cracking shot that was destined for the top corner onto the bar! 💪🏻

Everyone did brilliantly today, defense was really strong spearheaded by Alfie and his determination managing to limit Mansfields' chances! Well done boys!

Sandiacre Town Cyclones 0 - 3 Stapleford Pegasus

Just wouldn't fall for us today! Despite creating numerous chance throughout the game and having plenty of possession we just lacked the final pass/shot or even just a bit of luck today! Some great efforts put in by all the team and as usual everyone seemed to enjoy themselves!

Man of the match 🏆 Kalan. Great defensive performance Kalan today, put in a great effort and stuck to his position well. Some great clearances that turned defence into attack for us.

Supporters player picked by Jamie 🏆 George, some great passing and pressing in the opponent's half. Created some great chances and on another day would have a goal or 2 to go with his performance!

Well done George and Kalan.

Our match today finished

Holy spirit tigers 3 - 0 Sandiacre Cyclones

Playing against an unbeaten team thats top of the league was always going to be tough and it looked like it was going to be a long morning when we conceded in the first 30s 🤦🏻‍♂️ but after the early goal the boys did really well to pick themselves up and produce a brilliant battling performance and stay in the game right until the end!

The last time we played holy spirit at the beginning of the season we lost 11-0 so today shows how far the boys have come and how much everyone is improving! Some great positioning from the defence and if a couple of the breaks had gone our way it could have been even closer today.

Today's man of the match was 🏆 Harrison , a great performance in defence! Some great tackles, good positioning and really got stuck in today!

🏆 Alfie was voted supporters player today, another great performance at the back from Alfie giving 110%. Positioning was really good this week.

The boys behaved brilliantly during the 1 minutes silence before the match 👏

Playing against an experienced team that have been together a lot longer than us made it hard today.

Despite the scoreline the boys finished smiling!

Standout performance and 🏆man of the match today went to 🧤Charlie in goal, lots to do today and did really well making some absolutely brilliant saves including 1 on 1's and a couple of double saves. Well done Charlie!

Plenty to work on in training and we'll get ready for another tough match next week against top of the league.
