Although the Polaris Regatta will soon be over, the season isn’t quite finished at HLSC! There’s still plenty happening at the club, and we’d love to see as many members as possible at these three special events.

🌟 Friday 16th October – Celebrating Our Volunteers
🕖 19:00 | HLSC Clubhouse

Our Commodore will be hosting a special evening to celebrate and thank our wonderful volunteers for everything they do for the club.

From helping behind the scenes to supporting events, sailing and everything in between, our volunteers are a huge part of what makes HLSC such a great club. ❤️

The bar will be open, with snacks and games provided, so come along, enjoy some good company and help us give our volunteers the celebration they deserve!

🏆 Saturday 14th November – Annual Dinner & Prizegiving
🕖 19:00 for 19:30 | The Argyll Hotel, Dunoon

A lovely opportunity for the HLSC family to come together, celebrate the season and recognise the achievements of our members. We’re looking forward to sharing a special evening together.

Our Annual General Meeting will take place in the clubhouse.

⛵ Robert Love Memorial Races – A Great Day on the Water! ⛵

Despite some challenging conditions, today’s Robert Love Memorial Races were a fantastic success!

Strong gusty and shifty southerly winds kept all the crews on their toes and provided some exciting sailing for competitors and spectators alike. 🌊💨

🏆 Handicap Fleet

The racing was incredibly close, with the first three boats finishing on equal points! The win went to Nigel Scriven, Derek Webber and Marion Bowen aboard the Sonata Moonlight. Congratulations! 👏

🚩 Piper Fleet – Race 1

Seven Pipers took to the start line, with very close racing throughout. Dougie Campbell, Mr Iain and crew aboard Chanter took line honours, with Duncan Munro, Stuart Brown and Ali Gordon sailing Tom Piper close behind.

The battle for third place was particularly tight among the remaining five boats. One shore-side pundit was heard to remark that they were “closer together at the finish line than they were on the start line!” 😄

Third place went to Robert Towart, Caroline Clark and Charmaine Boyd aboard Staypuff.

🚩 Piper Fleet – Race 2

A depleted fleet of just three Pipers started the second race, with Chanter taking the win once again. Tom Piper and Andy Love aboard Tamarind finished third.
