The Bowmen of Pendle & Samlesbury is a long established target archery club based in the North West of England. We are a friendly club with over 100 members ranging from 8 years old to senior citizens. Both able bodied and those with disabilities are welcome and help is always on hand from our qualified coaches. The club runs Beginners’ Courses throughout the year and through them introduce many p

eople to the sport. We also run ‘Try Archery’ [Have-A-Go] events, both at our ground for parties from a variety of organisations and also at village fetes, carnivals and for local schools. Our junior members meet every Saturday morning for coaching. Some of our juniors are members of the County Junior Squad. Our members predominantly shoot Recurve and Compound bows, but other bows, which are used as a second choice, include the Longbow and the Mongolian Bow. Throughout the year during both the indoor and outdoor seasons the Club holds regular competitions for those with a competitive appetite and members also have the opportunity to attend nationally run events. The Bowmen of Pendle and Samlesbury club is affiliated to Archery GB, Northern Counties Archery Society and Lancashire Archery Association and strives to promote Archery throughout the North West. The club has formed links with South Ribble Borough Council and also a number of schools in the county.
