In the distant past of a week last Sunday, March 1st if you need hard dates, Team Phoenix played a match that would leave them exhausted, disappointed but ultimately proud.
Grangefield 1 vs Marske Phoenix
When it comes to home court advantage, no team in the league has it better than Grangefield. The small cramped hall can feel suppressive to the uninitiated and the less said about the height of the net, the better.
But Marske players are ready to put it all on the court no matter the circumstances.
The first set set the stage for what the rest of the match would be. Intense, long rallies that required skill, power and precision to win rather than relying on the other team to make more mistakes. Volleyball at its finest.
After two loses and two hard fought wins, it was all to play for in the final set, but unfortunately the wings of victory were not in Team Phoenix's favour. But every Phoenix Player played fantastically and can be proud of their performance.
MVP for the match was the team's setter Nikki. Every player in that match had the qualities to be MVP in that game, so it's a testament to her performance that she got it. Nikki was the heart of the team, keeping everyone working smoothly together with great plays and constant communication.
This very long winded post is to say that I was very busy last week but I will catch up with posts this week - Dev ✌️
