🏐York Volleyfest
🏐First Indoor training session of the season

The 26/27 season got under way on Sunday 6th September with Marske entering 4 adult teams and 3 Junior teams to York Volleyfest, a four a side competition outdoors on grass.

Despite the sunny team photos the weather was quite wet during the day, poor Spike needed to be dried out afterwards.

Well done to everyone who braved the day to take part. Great to see all 7 of our teams there.

The following day our first indoor session took place for all our juniors and adults.

Great to see so many faces back and we welcomed 8 new juniors for a taster session and hopefully will see them return for more fun sessions.

Day 2 of Bridlington Beach Volleyball Tournament

We had a fantastic time as always, regardless of whether we win or lose. We'll be back again next year and are always happy to take more members with us.

Day 1 of Bridlington Beach Volleyball Tournament has ended.

Some of our teams did significantly better than others, but the sun was shining, the games were flowing and fun times were had.

Back at it tomorrow 💪

Last Sunday, Team Hawks played off against Grangefield 4 (Apologies, I put 3 in the image)

The development team continues to come along bu leaps and bounds with great teamwork, attacks and covers. They had a strong 3-0 win.

MVP was Flo who is a strong all round player. Good server, strong hits and great at receiving and covering.

Marske Phoenix played off against Cleveland Bulls on the last bank holiday Sunday.

Phoenix had a slow start, struggling to stop the Bulls excellent serves. But thankfully, by the third set, they had pulled it around. The blocks were up, the receives were high and the attacks were strong.

But, despite a fiercely fought 5 set, it wasn’t enough to get them the win.

MVP was Nikki, the setter and heart of the team. Her skill and gameplay judgement kept spirits high and points on the board.

Last week's bank holidays weekend was a tough time for Team Firebirds and Team Phoenix.

The Firebirds had an away match against Darlington Haughton Volleyball Club who have grown into a very strong team after playing against the Northern Countys.

The Firebirds put up a good fight, getting many strong attacks in. Unfortunately, Haughton had a solid defence and the Firebirds weren't always there covering, ready to pick up from the block. This resulted in a 3-0 lose.

MVP for the match was Neil. Big hits, big blocks and never stops chasing 💪

Last Sunday Markse Phoenix played against Cleveland Toros.

Phoenix had a strong start, playing at their own pace and taking the 1st and 3rd set. But unfortunately they weren't able to clinch the win.

However, Team Phoenix did a fantastic job, winning some long, intense rallies by always chasing, reacting and not giving up 💪

MVP for the match was Harry. His powerful serves caused some trouble for Toros as well as his strong spikes and solid blocking 🙌

We may be down now, but in the flames of this defeat, we will be reborn 🔥
