Claire and Gill have just finished their 10th paired PT session with myself and have achieved fantastic results so far!⁣

They have been doing PT twice per week focusing on a resistance style of training. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Before having PT, both had little experience with resistance training and it has been great to watch them give it their all each session and really enjoy the process. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
This had lead to both achieving; ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
- Weight loss ✅⁣⁣
- Lowered Body Fat Percentage ✅⁣⁣
- Improved Strength ✅⁣⁣
- Improved cardiovascular endurance ✅⁣⁣
- Improved confidence ✅⁣⁣

Quick post about Abby’s insane weight loss so far! She’s down 25 POUNDS in 6 weeks! ⁣⁣⁣

That is just under 2 STONE! 🤯 ⁣⁣⁣

Abby joined up the gym in January and has just finished her 10th PT session with myself. ⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣
We have been doing PT twice per week, mainly focusing on resistance training. Alongside this she has added a weekly cardio day around her busy schedule too.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
We worked out her daily caloric needs and how to safely get herself into a calorie deficit.⁣ ⁣Which we can see is definitely working!⁣⁣

💥 Basal Metabolic Rate 💥⁣

Basal metabolic rate (BMR) measures the minimum amount of calories that your body needs to perform necessary functions on a daily basis. ⁣

🚨This DOES NOT include exercise!🚨⁣

BMR can be very helpful in helping you gain, lose or maintain your weight.⁣

❗️- Maintain weight / Consume the same amount of calories that you burn. ⁣

‼️- Lose weight / Consume less calories than you burn (Calorie Deficit).⁣

❗️ - Gain weight / Consume more calories than you burn (Calorie Surplus).⁣

Once you’ve calculated your BMR you can use this number to figure out how many calories you need alongside exercise. However, this will not be 100% accurate, but is an easy way to get an estimate. ⁣

1️⃣ - Light Activity / Low intensity exercise 1-3 days a week. Multiply BMR to 1.375.⁣

2️⃣ - Moderate Activity / Moderate intensity exercise 3-5 times a week. Multiply BMR by 1.55.⁣

3️⃣ - Very Active / High intensity exercise 5-6 times per week. Multiply BMR by 1.725.⁣

⬇️⬇️⬇️⁣

Here is an example of calculating BMR for a 25 year old, 6 foot male weighing 86kg. ⁣

66.47 + 1185.6 (6.24 + 190) + 914.4 (12.7 x 72) - 168.86 (6.755 x 25). ⁣

= BMR of 1998 calories. ⁣✏️

Along with moderate exercise 4 times per week this number would then be multiplied by 1.55. ⁣

1998 x 1.55 = 3097 calories burned per day. ✅⁣

And if the goal was to lose weight they would simply need to consume less than 3097 calories a day when exercising 3-5 times per week. ⁣

A safe way to figure out this number is being in a caloric deficit of 10-15%. ⁣

In this example being 310 - 465 calories below the BMR would be very effective for weight loss! ⁣
