❤️🦁⚽️ Match Report 2 - Plymouth Rangers Pumas 2–4 Saltash United Lionesses ❤️🦁⚽️
The Lionesses headed into this one looking for their second win of the season. We came flying out of the blocks, with Lola M finding the back of the net inside the first three minutes, finishing off a brilliant move after a great assist from Arwen.
Just a minute later, Lola M put the Pumas under huge pressure, chasing down their goal kick and forcing the mistake. She pounced on the opportunity and calmly finished to make it 0–2. ⚽⚽
The Lionesses continued to press, with a dangerous corner from Ella taking a deflection off a Pumas player and ending up in the back of the net. 0–3! 🦁
But the Pumas weren’t going to give up without a fight. They responded with a fantastic strike that gave Torii no chance, after some great goalkeeping throughout the game, bringing the score to 1–3.
We kept pushing forward, with Ruby putting in defensive tackles, Mia driving up the wing and Lola (Boots) playing an excellent defensive midfield. Once again Arwen and Lola M linked up, this time Lola M assisting a fantastic strike from Arwen, making it 1-4 at the break.
In the second half both teams came out attacking and refusing to give up. The Lionesses created some fantastic chances, with Ella, Arwen, Madie and Lola M all coming close to adding more to the score.
Then came another twist. The Pumas were awarded a free kick and, just as we had benefited from a deflection for our third goal, they got a little bit of luck of their own. A great strike took a deflection and found its way into the net. 2-4.
As the minutes ticked away, the Lionesses dug deep. There were tackles from Anna and Elsie, pressure from Eleanor up the wing, attacking runs from Tilly and Poppy, defensive blocks from Amelia and Lola-Mai and plenty of tired legs — but the girls kept battling for each other.
A fantastic team performance and, most importantly, our second win! The girls showed attacking confidence, teamwork, determination and the ability to hold their nerve when the game became a real battle.

Two goals, relentless pressure up front and brilliant teamwork. Lola M was a constant threat to the Pumas defence.
⭐ Opposition Player of the Match — Belle
A huge well done to Belle, who came onto the pitch with full energy and never stopped working. She chased down every ball, put her body on the line and produced some superb crosses into our attackers.
