What a fantastic afternoon at Wincanton Primary School's Summer Fete! ☀️🏃‍♂️🦈

I loved bringing Mini Athletics along and seeing so many excited faces as kids took on the hungry shark to save as many fish as they could!

A HUGE well done to Salisbury superstar Leo on getting his second certificate! 🏆

At Mini Athletics, children are invited up on to our special podium at the end of every class to wave to their fans and get a sticker in their book! 🌟

And once their book is full (with 27 stickers!), they get a Mini Athletics certificate to treasure! 😀

Coach Lucy is very proud of Leo and said: "He has unlimited energy and flies into classes every week, has lots of fun with his friends and develops his athletics skills more and more each week... Well done Leo!"

Gogo and I love being invited to Dinton Pre-School! 💚

What an absolutely amazing setting for Mini Athletics!

The children LOVED today's trip to the fun fair! It's always amazing to see little people so excited and happy during our classes!

We can make Mini Athletics fun in pretty much whatever space your nursery has, but having all this beautiful green space at Dinton Pre-School today was extra special! 😀

"That was awesome!!" 🌟

My favourite comment of the morning came from a little boy at St George’s Shining Stars Preschool during our Fun Fair themed Mini Athletics class. He'd had a fantastic time spinning around on his bottom, pretending to be a merry-go-round! 🎠

It's always an absolute pleasure visiting this wonderful pre-school, where every member of staff genuinely cares about each and every child. The team are amazing and always join in our games with so much enthusiasm. When children see their role models having fun and being active, it inspires them to do the same!

We packed plenty of fun into today's session. We built a rollercoaster before racing along it at top speed with huge smiles and our hands in the air 🎢, knocked down coconuts at the coconut shy 🥥, and enjoyed lots of races that got us moving our bodies in all sorts of different ways.

One little girl's delighted cry of "Again!" after a race said it all! 💛

These wonderful children have come on so much since I started weekly classes with them last term. During our warm-up, they were confidently waving at Gogo with both their hands and feet at the same time, and one teacher commented that not all of them could do that when we first started. It's so rewarding to see their coordination, confidence and physical skills developing week by week.

We always have so much fun together, and mornings like this remind me why I love what I do.

Mini Athletics is a fantastic enrichment activity for pre-schools, and we're now taking bookings for September. If you're a nursery or pre-school manager and would like to find out more, we'd love to hear from you! 🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️✨

A mum told me after our Wincanton classes on Saturday that she was so happy she'd found Mini Athletics because young kids don't need a sport, they need movement! 🏃‍♀️

Things like football and rugby felt too specific for her boys at their age. Young children don't just want to kick a ball or learn one sport—they want to move. They want to run, jump, throw, balance, catch and explore what their bodies can do. ♥️

That's exactly what we focus on at Mini Athletics. Building confidence, developing fundamental movement skills and helping children fall in love with being active before they ever need to choose a sport.

🏃‍♀️💨 Action, energy, determination and huge smiles — these photos say it all!

Last weekend, our mini athletes joined children from across the country at Superstar 2026 for an unforgettable day of competition and fun.

From sprinting and jumping to cheering on teammates and giving every challenge their best effort, our little athletes were incredible. The determination, teamwork and pure joy on display throughout the day were everything children's sport should be about.

Kids' sport isn't about being the best. It's about having a go, learning new skills, making friends, building confidence and creating memories that last long after the finish line.

🎉 Mini Athletics turns 10 this week! 🎉

Here I am at our annual conference celebrating with Mini Athletics co-founders, and

Kirk and Clare started Mini Athletics in Suffolk a decade ago after struggling to find a sports class for their toddler son that focused on what really matters: joy.

They set out to create something different — a programme that combined imagination, adventure and fun with the fundamental athletics skills of running, jumping and throwing.

Fast forward 10 years and Mini Athletics is now operating in six countries, with more than 40 franchises across the UK and USA, helping thousands of children discover a love of movement every week. 🌎🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️

My own Mini Athletics journey began two and a half years ago when I left my career in journalism to pursue a dream: helping children build confidence, make friends and experience the joy that sport can bring.

It's been one of the best decisions I've ever made. Seeing children grow in confidence, achieve things they didn't think possible and leave classes with huge smiles on their faces makes me proud every single week.

Happy 10th Birthday, Mini Athletics — here's to the next decade of inspiring children through sport! ❤️
