On a cold wet morning in Farnworth Fives took to a wet muddy pitch with only a bare 11 to choose from. Fives U16’s had to roll their sleeves up & graft a victory this week. A scruffy goal from Bird opened the scoring, after making some great saves the Tika Taka GK will not be pleased with this one as he spilled into the net, there was certainly nothing scruffy about the second a 30 yard free kick rifled into the top corner gave Bird his Brace and Fives a 2-0 lead. Fives third was a goal you would expect to from Lionel Messi as Scallon beat 5 or 6 players with fancy footwork to give the away team a 0-3 HT lead. Second half saw Tika Taka rally, but the defence stayed strong rallied by stand in Skipper Joe Green and Ethan Racket made a key save to his right. A well-hit free kick saw Tika Taka pull one back but was short lived as Speedster Kyle Whittaker latched onto a perfectly weighted through ball from Bird and Whitaker rounded the keeper calmly to slot the 4th and put the game to bed and a final score of 1-4. Fives 100% record season continues, next weekend the title hungry squad travel to Horwich RMI to try and make it 5 wins from 5.

Ran out 7-2 winners a well worked team goal from a throw on the right played right through Pennington & neatly finished by Dan Speed added the 6th.
