Our Sports Centre will be closed during the final bank holiday of 2026:

Monday 31st August

We will be open as normal on Tuesday to kickstart an exciting September ✨️

🔵 Swimming Pool Changing Rooms during Painting Refurbishment 🔵

Between the 18th August to 1st September, we will be closing our wetside changing rooms due to our ongoing painting refurbishment.

During this time, we will be using our dryside facilities, equipped with toilets, showers and changing hubs. Following our designated water resistant pathway, you'll enter the pool on our side entrance via the Health Hub ✨️

We will provide hubs for towels and sandles/flip flops to be left on poolside.

All policies remain on poolside during our refurb, so keep all personal belongings in lockers, and shower before entering the pool (remember, we have a shower next to our sauna).

We thank you again during this prolonged closure, for your patience and coorperation 🙌

✨️🔵 Painting Project, Cardio Room Closure 🔵✨️

Continuing our ever-growing desire to paint things, we will be temporarily be closing our Cardio Room between Monday 17th - Wednesday 19th August.

However... we will be moving some of our equipment into Squash Court 2 as a temporary studio, so you can have access to some of our cardio equipment during this time.

Once again, we thank you for your patience during this project and being able to keep fully open whilst giving our Sports Centre a much needed refresh! 🙌

✨️ Painting Project in Upper Gym Room ✨️

As we continue our side quest in repainting the entire sports centre, we must close off our Upper Gym Room on the following dates:

Monday 10th August
Tuesday 11th August
Wednesday 12th August

We thank you for your understanding 🙌 This is a big refurbishment project, and we appreciate you working around us, whilst in a safe environment for all.

We will update you when future Gym rooms will be affected.

✨️Renovation Update✨️🔧

We've been busy recently, providing necessary and exciting updates to some of our facilities ✨️

Our Swimming Pool 💦 now fitted with new underwater lighting and tiling. Scheduled to reopen July 18th.

Our new PT Studio ✨️ scheduled for September, we are beginning our revamped studio for private sessions. Our new flooring & sled track are in place, with new painting & equipment to come over August!

The Physical Activity Team were back at the GMUSMH Partnership’s Student Lifestyle and Mental Health Conference on Friday, and it was fantastic for the team to present an update on Year 3 of our Student Wellbeing Exercise Referral Scheme at the Sports Centre, which offers physical activity and exercise support for our students at The University of Salford.

We have now expanded the offer to our colleagues too through our mental health first aid network, and it was great to present an update on the first year of this service, alongside some fantastic speakers.
