🏆 History made! 🏆

Huge congratulations to our Lady Captain Elect, Jenny Page, who won the Marjorie Griffiths Competition at Ringway Golf Club on 3rd September 2026.

Jenny is the first woman to ever win the prestigious competition and will now have her name added to the famous putter. The putter dates back to the mid-1960s and has traditionally been played for by the Cheshire Union Vice Presidents — until this year!

Jenny, you’re the first woman to add your name to it! 👏🥳 What an achievement!

It’s Freaky Friday! Holes are changing, flags are moving and the course is getting a little makeover ready for the weekend competitions.⛳️ Because apparently, knowing where the holes are is too easy!

Throwback to when Sale Golf Club headed to Northenden Golf Club for the Mersey Bowl on Sunday 14th June 2026, with 75 pairs from Northenden, Sale, Withington, Chorlton and Didsbury competing in the Greensomes Stableford Mixed Pairs.

Sale put in a brilliant performance, taking the overall title with an impressive 193 points! Mersey Bowl champions! 🏆⛳️

Our members braved the wet weather today for the Heineken Trophy 18-Hole Medal.

A quick pit stop at the Halfway House for some food and a little refuelling before heading back out to tackle the remaining holes!

Despite the downpour this morning, it hasn’t stopped our greenkeeping team from getting some cutting done! Those stripes deserve a round of applause! 👏

ELISABETH WILSON KNOCKOUT ⛳️

After a 4–1 quarter-final win away at Prestbury, Sale faced Wilmslow in a closely fought semi-final at Hale Golf Club today, but lost 3–2. Two of the matches went all the way to the 18th, making for a tight finish.

Players: Rebecca Hyde, Sue Oldham, Julie Matthews, Caroline Croxton, Gill Ross.

Caddies: Fiona Flanagan, Jenny Page, Hillary Trentham, Sarah Roper.

Well played, ladies, and thanks to the caddies for their support.

Our Captain’s Away Day took the team to Bolton Golf Club for a fantastic day of golf and a rather lively breeze!

Despite the very windy conditions, the winning team managed to keep their golf on track and take the honours. 🏆

We had the pleasure of welcoming Romiley GC today for what has become an annual Exchange Day.

Over 120 players passed through the Halfway House, with most taking part in the food being served, along with the odd beer (or two! 🍻).

We hope everyone enjoyed the day and that we’ll see you all again next year.

The Sale ladies have been getting into the Solheim Cup spirit with a competition of their very own! 🇺🇸🇪🇺

Team USA took on Team Europe in a 9-hole Stableford, with plenty of competitive spirit, some great golf and, of course, a bit of friendly rivalry along the way.

Lady Captain Alice Connett led Team Europe to victory with an impressive 133 points! 🏆

As for Team USA… we’ll just say there’s always next year!

And we have a rather special Solheim Cup connection of our own at Sale. Our very own Joanne Morley played for Team Europe in the 1996 Solheim Cup, before going on to serve as Vice Captain at the 2009 and victorious 2011 Solheim Cups. What a fantastic achievement!
