Bank Holiday Monday saw the 3s travel to Bredbury St Marks, as they took them on in the T20 comp. Winning the toss, Michael Playle (62 off 43) and Shayan Imran (44 off 50) took charge with the bat, with the ball, Imran (2/3) and Shah Jawaid (2/4) guided the side to a 60 run victory.
The Silverbacks opened up their account on Wednesday with an 8 wicket win against Ashton-On-Mersey. Lionel Thompson (30* off 24) and Andy Gould (26 off 22) stared with the bat, whilst Nigel Bellamy (2/19) and new skipper Rob Moore (1/15) shone with the ball.
Storm had another double header! The derby against Brooklands was a close one, only winning by 4 runs. Key bowling from Emma Ross (2/11) and Jade Williams (2/22) kept the hosts down to 294 assisted by some brilliant fielding. Excellent batting from captain Lucy Dodds (27 off 14) and Rachael Read (27 off 11) brought Storm’s total up to 298.
Storm were back at home on Thursday playing YO-YO for the first time against North East Cheshire. Batting first, Lucy Dodds (33* off 22), Emilia Maddison (32* off 18), and Becca Broadbent (30* off 10) all retired for the first time whilst Emma Ross (2/21) and Ellie Wright (1/9) helped bowl the side to a 24 run victory.
Saturday saw the 1s back at home playing Port Sunlight in a rain affected game. Bowling first, Amlyn Layton and Seb Schofield bowled well to see the visitors score 204 after 39 overs. Chasing 212, Schofield inspired with the bat scoring 65* off 41 with 5 4s and 3 6s, assisted by George Walker (48 off 69) only coming up 9 short of the total.
The 2s were abandoned at Alderley Edge, but not before Muneeb Iftikhar (33 off 37) and Jamie Coombes (17 off 44) got some runs on the board.
The 3s were away at Ashley. Winning the toss and batting first, captain Brayden Ross led from the front scoring his maiden senior half century, a remarkable 71* off 45 with 9 4s and 1 6, Salman Kazi also scored 52 off 51 with 7 4s and 2 6s, posting a mammoth 282/7. Shayan Imran (3/20) was thrown the new ball and in a game he could do no wrong, Brayden Ross (2/10) helped bowl Ashley all out for 82, winning by an incredible 200 runs.
