Just a reminder that we’ve got these awesome women shanty singers coming to sing on SB May next Friday
Don’t miss out! They’re internationally famous!!🤩

We are delighted to be welcoming The Silver Darlings singers aboard for our next Live & Unplugged evening on 4th September. The 6 piece all-female crew from Southend on Sea combine heart-warming harmonies with passion, enthusiasm and a healthy dose of humour! Their live performance is both energetic and emotional.

They have performed at many UK shanty and folk festivals, crossed into the mainstream at Latitude Festival and are frequent visitors to European maritime festivals in France, Belgium, Germany and the Netherlands. They never miss an opportunity to perform on a boat, whether it be a Thames Barge, a lightship, the Golden Hinde or the Cutty Sark!

Their second album ‘Whaling Women’ was released in 2025, following their critically acclaimed debut ‘Maiden Voyage’ Book soon to avoid disappointment! Use the QR code or go to our website for info & tickets!

We are delighted to have our funding application for the Community Initiative Fund approved by the Essex Association of Local Councils.

This enables us to set up a monthly creative Cafe for local residents and groups from community organisations to attend.

For our first Creative Cafe session on 14th May, 2pm to 4.30pm, we are inviting the local community to have their say with regards to the program of activities we plan. We want to plan activities that help meet the needs of the community.

These will be free events and once we’ve agreed a pathway of activities with associated dates we will advertise these free sessions which will include a light lunch

If you work with the local community, run any groups or have any connection with organisations that support vulnerable people we would like to hear from you!!

Please indicate if you are able to attend the first session by clicking on the QR code on the poster or follow this link https://www.thebreadandrosesbarge.com/event-details/have-your-say-preparing-to-launch-our-community-creative-cafe

Look forward to seeing you onboard Sailing Barge May!
