Results from Round 6 of our F9 Stableford League held tonight. We had a total of 9 gents enter and winner this week with 23 points was Glenn Grange🏌️👏👏

🏌️‍♂️🌌 SRGC MIXED MIDNIGHT GOLF 🌌🏌🏻‍♀️

We will be hosting our mixed midnight golf this Saturday 20th June. Any interested members or visitors who are keen to get involved please can you contact myself or Liz Pirie to get your names in the fray. This will be a mixed event so looking to get equal numbers of ladies & gents to take part, with the emphasis on having a fun & relaxed night of golf, coupled with a few refreshments of course 🍹🍾🥂🍻

Idea would be to meet at the clubhouse no later than 8:30pm for a quick warmup 🥃 and to get pairings/teams sorted, with the view to being out on the course for a 9pm ish, shotgun start.

🏌️⛳ SRGC LADIES SECTION ⛳🏌️

We host our GM Training Open on the 4th July 2026.

Entry fee £20, which includes food served at the presentation.

Entries are now open via the Scottish Golf App.

⛳ MEN'S SECTION PIPEDREAM OPEN ⛳

On Sunday 14th June we hosted the Pipedream Plumbing Open. Thank you to Pipedream Plumbing Ltd for their continued sponsorship of this competition. Their fantastic generosity is always greatly appreciated by the club.

There were 29 men entered with players from Orkney GC, Stromness GC and as far a field as Linlithgow Golf Club.

Weather for the most part of the day was grey and overcast with a brisk Northerly wind veering to North Westerly later in the day blowing across the course and not feeling particularly warm for the time of year. The course was presenteted once again in excellent condition, thanks to the outstanding work done by both Derek's, Snr and Jnr. Their hard work certainly paid dividends.

So the results are as follows.

In the Nett Section
🥇🏆Derek Ward Jnr (SGC) with 62.
🥈Derek Ward Snr (SRGC) with 67.
🥉Angus Thompson (SRGC) with 68.

In the Gross Section
🥇🏆Brian Corsie (SGC) with 72 .
🥈 Ross McQuillan (OGC) with 74.
🥉Denis Harvey (SGC) with 77.

The winners of the specials on the day, with the "Longest Drive" on the 17th was Brian Corsie (SGC) and "Nearest to the Pin" on the 6th was Stewart Moar (SGC)

Congratulations to all the winners and thank you to all the folk who entered. Your continued support of our Opens is very much appreciated.

Thank you to the SRGC committee members who provided hot food and drinks at the clubhouse, this was well received by everyone. Thank you to the ladies for assisting throughout the day, helping serve refreshments along with selling raffle tickets. Thanks also to all those who bought raffle tickets.

Thanks to Sheila Hourston our Match Secretary for sorting out the fixtures and helping to keep things running as smoothly as possible. This wasn't particularly easy since gremlins within the Scottish Golf App are still causing havoc.

Finally just a quick reminder, our next Men's open is the Pentland Ferries Open and will be hosted on Saturday the 11th July. Entry is now open through the Scottish Golf App. We hope to see you all down in the Hup again very soon 🏌️⛳.

*** SRGC JUNIOR PIPEDREAM OPEN ***

On Saturday 13th June we hosted the Junior Pipedream Open sponsored by Pipedream Plumbing Ltd.

There were three courses set up for the day. We had a 3-hole, 6-hole and a 9-hole layout available for the youngsters to choose from.

In total we had 4 juniors enter the 3-hole competition, which consisted of William Rendall, Thomas Rae, Teagan Herriage and Jacob Ross. Over the 3 holes played the winner on the day was William Rendall 🥇🏆.

In the 6-hole competition we also had 4 juniors enter, which consisted of Sho Johnston, Jimmy Spence, Louie Sutherland and Balfour Gunn. Over the 6 holes played the winner on the day was Louie Sutherland 🥇🏆.

In the 9-hole competition we had 6 juniors enter, who were Ruan Temple, Einar Sutherland, Mark Thomson, Mason Budge, Logan Edwardson and Theo McFarlane. Over the 9 holes played the winner on the day was Mason Budge🥇🏆

Well played to all who took part and we hope you enjoyed your day.

Thank you to Aaron who set out the 3 & 6 hole course and to Liz Pirie who provided sausage rolls, home bakes, strawberries and water melon slices for all the junior golfers to tuck into at the end of play.

South Ronaldsay Golf Club Ladies Section.

On Sunday 14th June, we held the Pipedream Open. 28 ladies played on a dull, windy day. A good entry of both men and women meant the course was busy all day and refreshments were available in the shed.
As always, thank you to the Orkney and Stromness Ladies for supporting our Opens and we were also delighted to have ladies from Tain and Linlithgow Golf Clubs entered.
