St Ives Town FC was formed in 1979 from Nancledra Rangers, playing at Nan
cledra in the Amor Shield. Then the club then moved from Nancledra to Folly Farm, St Ives, playing in a converted field. The club then moved to Polmanter Farm, St Ives where not only did they have a field for a pitch but had the use of a laundry room for changing in! The club progressed to the West Penwith League shortly after winning the Marazion Cup in 1981. A reserves team was then formed and that then played in the Amor Shield. In 1986 the club amalgamated with St Ives Junior AFC and it moved to it's present ground at Lelant Saltings under a 28 year lease from Penwith Council. The team joined the Mining League. The 1st team won the Division 1 title and the reserves the Division 3 title. By this time the club had formed teams for youngsters and the under-12's won both cups and leagues. In fact in 1991 the club had 3 senior and 6 junior teams. In 1992 the club applied and were accepted to the Cornwall Combination League and has been one of the more successful teams since, having won the League Cup twice (2002, 2017) the Everly cup (2017) and the Supplementary Cup three times. (1995,1997,2001)
In 2011 the club's new changing room and storage facilities were opened by Sir Geoff Hurst in memory of long standing player and Royal Marine, Paul Fox who we tragically lost whilst serving his country in Afghanistan.
