Have you ever seen a bat like this? I've certainly never come across anything quite like it before and struggled even to find any pictures or evidence of it online. Gray Nicolls have always been innovators, and this seems reminiscent of the Mongoose bat that was popular in the early years of T20. Talk about being ahead of the curve!

The bat was being refurbished as a birthday present for someone who hoped their favourite bat could be given a new lease of life! Although there was a fair bit of cracking on the face, it’s a decent piece of willow and came up nicely after a good sand and polish.

Back again! This is the third time I've seen this bat now. I don't think that reflects badly on me, given the state it was in when it first arrived two years ago. It's pretty amazing it's still going strong. Another toe repair and a service, and we'll see if it holds on for another year!

This is where it all began! My first cricket bat and my first ever restoration. My Mum and Dad found this one at the back of the garage and thought it might be a nice project for me!!

I am not sure it'll ever be used with a cricket ball again, but it might get some use in the back garden. Considering it cost £14.99 in 1994 or 1995, it's holding up fairly well.

You can see what the bat looked like originally on the 'About Us' section of the website.

I reckon the new branding is slightly sharper than my first attempt!!
