Saturday 27th September (sorry for the late post) saw the Rangers at home vs Cadishead Sports Junior Blacks for a 10:30 kickoff.
The Rangers pulled off a 5-2 win with some great football played by everyone putting in a great TEAM effort throughout.
Although a win the lads still need to work on their communication as we saw a few times players bumping into each other but this is something they can resolve .

Opposition managers pick player of the match went to our number 2 Tyler who played a blinder in defence diffusing multiple Cadishead attacks and put the Rangers quickly back on the counter.
This award adding to his run of POTM awards im the last few games πŸ‘πŸ‘.

Parents player of the match went to our number 11 Osian who put in a cracker of a performance and scored a great goalπŸ‘πŸ‘.

Well done lads and a well done to the rest of tge team for a brilliant performance πŸ‘ πŸ‘.

Saturday 20th saw the Rangers away, against Penlake Villa.
This was a game the lads went into expecting defeat based on the chatter amongst them at Wednesday's training session, them knowing Penlake are a tough opposition.
We told them just to go out and play to win as they were totally capable of doing so and that's exactly what they did, pulling out a 3-2 win .

Opening the scoreline was Oscar our number 10 who slotted a nice composed shot into Penlakes goal putting the Rangers ahead , then followed a second by Charlie our number 7 . Penlake then pulled a goal back putting it at 2-1 to the Rangers going into the halftime break.
Buzzing with their performance from the 1st half the lads went out into the second on a high wanting that win and fought hard for the remaining 30 mins of the game where it was an end to end game with plenty of attacks at either end with Penlake pulling back an equaliser but the Rangers managed to hold tight that defensive line until they fired a shot at Penlakes goal which took a deflection into the back of the net from one of their defenders giving them the 3-2 lead which they managed to hold on for the last few minutes of the game til the final whistle giving them the win. πŸ‘πŸ’™πŸ’™ .

Opposition managers pick player of the match went to Teddie our number 13 who pulled off some cracking defensive tackles winning the ball back multiple times and making some great attacking plays πŸ‘πŸ‘.

Parents player of the match went to Tyler our number 2 adding to his last week's opposition managers pick potm. He gave his usual silent assasin performance flying in from out of nowhere it seemed and closing down nearly every threat from Penlake , winning the ball back putting us on the counter or making a clearance to halt their attack.πŸ‘πŸ‘.

Well done lads and a well done to the Team for a great team effort πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘

Saturday 13th saw the Rangers at Home vs Beechwood JFC Bilbao , a team they have won against last season and with a healthy scoreline.
This season's first meeting against this team was a different story and ended in a 3-2 defeat for the Rangers
The lads just weren't on their A game in that 1st half and made some silly mistakes which Beechwood took full advantage of.
The lads started off full of energy, constantly on the attack and opened up the scoreline with a goal from our number 11 Osian in the first 15 minutes, only for Beechwood to come back with an equaliser after the lads didn't react to one of their counter attacks, with both our defence and keeper calling offside even before they took the shot and were awarded the goal.
At the halftime break it remained 1-1 where we reminded the lads to always play to the whistle regardless of what call they thought should have been made by the referee.
Going into the second half the Rangers had multiple shots on Beechwoods goal but just couldn't find the back of the net.
Beechwood then hit back with a second goal from a corner which was cleared brilliantly from a header from our number 13 Teddie only to land to the feet of Beechwood just outside the box where the lads were too slow to press the player giving him enough space to fire it over the top and into the net out of reach of the Rangers keeper leaving the Rangers behind by a goal.
They fought back hard after this and had multiple attacks on Beechwoods goal which came to nothing until a corner awarded in the last 10 minutes or so of the game .
A neatly whipped in corner landed to our number 12 Koen who put it in the net bringing them the equaliser. All the lads could do was hold off the Beechwood advances and try to at least pull out a draw as the final minutes ticked away. Unfortunately in the final minute our defence put in a tackle that was free kick worthy just outside the area .
Beechwood set up for this last kick of the game play and fired an absolute banger into the top left of the goal way out of the reach of our number 1 securing the win for Beechwood. πŸ‘.

Opposition managers pick player of the match went to our number 2 Tyler , who put in some great defensive tackles , winning the ball back and diffusing multiple Beechwood attacks πŸ‘πŸ‘.

Parents player of the match went to our number 7 Charlie who as always ran his legs off and put 110% effort in throughout the game. πŸ‘πŸ‘.

Saturday the 6th saw the Rangers in their 1st game of the season at U12's in division 4 vs Woolston Rovers Raiders.
The lads hit the ground running with this one, with only having one pre season friendly and many of the team missing summer training sessions due to holidays managing to pull off a 5-0 Win.
The lads opened up the scoreline early on with the first goal coming from our number 5 Harry, then a second coming from an own goal from Woolston via a deflection from a Rangers shot, then a third from our number 7 Charlie via a cracking assist from our number 8 Lewis closing the first half.
The effort they put in and the team work was on point in that first half πŸ‘Œ .
Going into the second half the lads weren't as clean as the first and became sloppy in parts but managed to score a further 2 goals, the fourth coming from our number 12 Koen and then a fifth from our number 3 Lathan from a well placed free kick clearing the wall and firing staright into the back of the net to close the game without the Rangers conceding a goal taking the victory.πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘
Also a clean sheet for our number 1 James who pulled off some cracking saves throughout keeping Woolston at bay.
The teams performance throughout this match could not be faulted considering it was the 1st game of the season.
Hopefully this is the first of many great performances as the season progresses🀞. πŸ‘ŒπŸ‘πŸ‘βš½οΈβš½οΈβš½οΈβš½οΈβš½οΈ.

Goals:
#5 Harry
Woolston (og)
#7 Charlie ( #8 Lewis assist).
#12 Koen
#3 Lathan (from a free kick).

Opposition managers pick player of the match going to our #13 Teddie who put a strong performance in throughout, making some great physical tackles πŸ‘πŸ‘Œ.

Parents player of the match going to our #8 Lewis for an awesome effort throughout the whole game and that assist as well . He has been putting extra effort in recently and it has definitely been paying off with this award adding to his trainer of the week award earlier that week πŸ‘πŸ‘Œ.
