🏆 UNDER 17S DIVISION 1 CHAMPIONS! 🏆
A fantastic achievement and the perfect way to bring another successful season to a close!
Congratulations to our Capricorn Saints U16s, who were crowned Under 17s Division 1 Champions after an outstanding 30–15 victory over Diamonds Bullets U16s in the Warrington Sport For All Centre Netball League Final. ❤️💛
An incredible achievement and a fitting reward for the hard work, commitment and teamwork shown throughout the season. Every player has contributed to this success, and everyone involved with Capricorn Netball Club is immensely proud of what this team has achieved.
Coach Sandra praised a complete team performance:
The team settled into the game brilliantly, with the attack converting centre passes consistently while the defence worked tirelessly to create crucial turnovers. Capricorn finished the opening quarter three goals ahead before extending the lead to six by half-time through disciplined defending and composed attacking play.
Rotations throughout the match kept fresh legs on court while maintaining the team's momentum. Sophie and Gabriella both made an excellent impact during the second quarter, helping Capricorn maintain their consistency and extend their advantage before Martha and Rose returned for an outstanding third quarter in defence.
Edith was exceptional at GD, producing numerous turnovers and linking brilliantly with Martha. At GK, Martha dominated the defensive circle with crucial interceptions and rebounds, while Rose worked tirelessly at WD, closing down her opponent and disrupting Diamonds Bullets' attacking play.
Through the middle, Evie controlled the game superbly at Centre, while Tilly produced an outstanding performance at Wing Attack, creating space from centre passes and feeding the shooting circle with quality ball throughout the match.
In attack, Lucy and Hannah worked tirelessly despite some very physical defending, showing great composure to move the ball patiently, work closer to the post and convert their opportunities with outstanding shooting accuracy.
A special mention also goes to Emily, who played an important role throughout the season in helping the team reach the final and, despite being sidelined through injury, was there to support her teammates on finals day.
It was a true squad performance, with every player playing their part in a memorable victory.

As another fantastic season comes to a close, we'd like to congratulate and thank all of our players, coaches, volunteers and families across every Capricorn squad. Your commitment, hard work and support throughout the year have helped make this another memorable season, and we are incredibly proud of everything our teams have achieved, both on and off the court.
Have a wonderful summer break, enjoy a well-earned rest, and we look forward to welcoming everyone back for another exciting season in September.
