I don’t think I’ll ever take for granted how lucky I am to do a job I genuinely love. 🤎

Especially after everything this past year has taught me about life, health and the importance of slowing down.

For me, it’s never been about simply providing a treatment. It’s about creating a little space where someone can switch off from the world, feel cared for and have some much-needed time just for themselves.

And knowing I’ve made even a small difference to someone’s day is what makes my job so special.

💜 MORE THAN JUST A QUALIFICATION… THIS ONE IS PERSONAL.

As many of you know, earlier this year I was diagnosed with bowel cancer. Surgery, chemotherapy and everything that followed have changed the way I look at life, wellbeing and the importance of human touch.

1 in 2 of us will develop cancer in our lifetime. 💜

I’m currently completing my Jennifer Young Oncology Massage qualification, I’m on the final stage with my case studies, with training designed to exceed the standards set by the Standards Authority for Touch in Cancer Care (SATCC).

But what does that mean?

It means specialist training in safely adapting massage for people living with cancer, undergoing treatment or recovering afterwards. Understanding their individual needs, the effects of treatment and the importance of compassionate, appropriate touch.

Because a cancer diagnosis shouldn’t automatically mean being turned away from a massage.

Having experienced cancer myself, I know that recovery doesn’t end when treatment finishes. The physical and emotional effects can stay with you long afterwards.

For me, this isn’t simply another qualification or treatment to add to my salon.

It’s about turning my own experience into something positive. Creating a space where people affected by cancer feel welcomed, understood and cared for.

I’m now completing my final case studies and looking forward to introducing this specialist treatment at All About You.

Because everyone deserves the comfort of human touch. 💜
