We are very excited to have a new freelance instructor starting with us this season. completed her induction last week and is set to join us for some Portmellon adventures this week 🥳 She trained at Porthpean Outdoor like and has all the necessary training and experience 🤩

Emma will work alongside and Kathy to deliver sessions for both our and our more commercial sessions. She will make a great addition to our team 💪

Par Beach at 2pm tomorrow for the launch of this initiative.

This is part of the open invitation from Noah Law;

‘…….. there are two launch rally events for this project happening this Sunday 10am at Fistral Beach, and 2pm at Par Beach, and you can see the open invite for this above. Both events will start off with meeting at the respective beach car parks, and from there we will hear from local activists and industry experts, and will see how the water testing will work.

I do want to be clear that this project has the intention of filling in gaps, rather than stepping on toes, and myself and my team have met with groups doing similar to ensure we can best support their efforts also. Whether you can assist with testing, help organise locally, or simply spread the word, your involvement will strengthen our push for cleaner water.

I have attached the open invite, and it would be great to see you there.

Happy Father’s Day for tomorrow everyone 🥳

Last night our finally made it out for a paddle 🥳 It was still a bit gusty so we stayed in the cove but the water was flat and it stayed dry.

We didn’t stay dry, however as we all took time to practice our paddling skills in the sheltered water and most of us also practiced our self-rescue skills 💦

It was time well spent and the group we super helpful carrying the kayaks to and from the slip way, and they also helped to wash the buoyancy aids and paddles off afterwards too 🤩

Here’s to another suitable evening next Wednesday too 🤞

This week is Drowning Prevention Week and we have created a blog to share some of the current campaigns available at the moment from the RNLI and RLSS. We hope you find them useful.

We are also sharing our offer of an accredited Aquatic Safety Qualification that we are hoping to share with you on 13th and 14th July at an introductory price, and then again in September. Cliff Nelson the course creator will be with us in Mevagissey too, so will be a great opportunity to share his wealth of knowledge on the topic of water safety.

We are targeting educational professionals and instructors who take school trips or educational visits down to the water for beach schools, rock pooling and also those who take groups into the water.

Our Walkie Talkies Plus Group (formally known as Active Transport Wellness Walks) have planned an exciting line of events for us all to enjoy from now until December 2026.

They range from our Beach Silent Disco Fundraiser on 27th June at Portmellon, to quizzes, a games night and another one of our awesome ‘Night at the Races’ as that was a great success 🤩

We also have another ceilidh on September 26th at the Mevagissey Activity Centre

Yesterday me and my daughter managed to get out for a paddle together. It was gorgeous 💙 Twinkly sea ✨warm sun 🌞 and light winds 🌬️ Perfect conditions and helped me to remember what we’re trying to achieve with the

We had a group of 9 booked for this morning and now the winds have turned around easterly again and have ramped up enough to take us out of remit. It still looks glorious; sun is out, the water is twinkly BUT the wind is not playing ball 😢
