💜 SILS IN ACTION 💜

Both Shadows and Snipers had games tonight, as Shadows hosted Hayle Thunder in the Social League and Snipers headed to Truro to face St Agnes’ seconds in Div 2!

💜 SNIPERS V ST AGNES 2

The girls got off to a mighty start, creating a strong lead in the early moments. Vic and Jada have built a solid partnership in the circle over the past few seasons, and this was demonstrated tonight throughout the game with seamless movement and impressive shooting from both of them to keep the goals coming.

The midcourt of Claudia, Zoe and Jaimee ensured our opponents were kept under constant pressure, and while in possession they used the width and depth of the court well to ensure the ball was carried down the court nicely and fed into the shooting circle with precision, with GD Kaitlyn often on hand to offer the reset when needed.

Paige and Kaitlyn had unbelievably never played together, yet were a formidable force in the defensive circle. They read Aggie’s game well, were hot on the rebounds and fought throughout the game to apply maximum pressure which paid dividends in tips and interceptions.

The whole team played with tenacity this evening, pushing themselves and giving 100% from the first whistle to the last. The defensive pressure was applied consistently throughout the court which frustrated Aggie and caused mistakes for Snipers to take advantage of and turn over, securing a comfortable 45-32 win.

Well done girls - a steady and balanced game from you all, and coaches POTM was a very hard choice this evening!

Thank you to Debbie and Amy for umpiring, for Jaimee’s Dad for scoring and to those who came to support the girls, and to Kaitlyn for being our designated baker this evening and delivering with some delicious shortbreads!

💜 SHADOWS V HAYLE THUNDER

A strong start from the girls, taking an early 8–2 lead. Sam and Leah got to work in the shooting circle, while Antonia and Steph linked up nicely through the middle. Lana, Molly and Tegan were solid in defence, keeping the opposition’s chances to a minimum.

We stuck with the same seven for the second quarter and continued to build on our lead. Leah and Sam kept the goals coming, with Antonia and Steph working hard to feed the circle. Lana, Molly and Tegan continued to make life difficult for Hayle.

Starting the third quarter on 22 goals, we made a few changes, with Brodi coming on at GA, Grace at WA and Antonia moving to C. It took us a minute to find our feet as the game became much faster-paced, but the girls soon settled into the new combinations and got back into their rhythm.

In the final quarter, Brodi and Sam worked well with Grace and Antonia to increase the lead, while Lana, Molly and Tegan worked hard in defence right until the final whistle. A strong finish to round off a great performance, winning the final quarter and securing a 31–12 victory.

Thank you to Claire and Sally for umpiring for us and to Rach for coming to score 🤍

💜 SNIPERS V FALCON 💜

Silhouettes Snipers secured a solid home win against Falcon, coming away with their first win in Div 2!

Sils began the game strong, taking an early lead in the initial minutes thanks to extensive pressure applied by the defence and solid shooting and down court play from the attack. The game was a competitive affair, with both teams working hard to take their chances under pressure and create turnovers throughout the court. Snipers centre-pass combinations were sharp, followed by some brilliant link-up play through the midcourt which lead to plenty of opportunities in the shooting circle.

Going forwards, Snipers grafted tirelessly to work the ball into the circle against a tenacious Falcon defence who made things very difficult at times. The mid court of Claudia, Zoe, Kaitlyn and Soph combined well throughout, linking nicely with Jada and Jaimee who grew into the game and took command of the shooting circle.

Defensively, Sils worked from the first minute to the last, applying pressure throughout the court to force turnovers, which disrupted Falcon’s attacking play at times and created important opportunities to move the ball back down court towards goal. The defensive duo of Paige and Freya remained sharp, forcing plenty of errors and picking up a flurry of interceptions in the circle while Soph and Kaitlyn took charge just outside, showing great determination and supporting the team to work the ball down court throughout the match with Freya often on hand to offer a reset when needed.

Every player contributed and put in 100% effort for the team, which meant Sils were able to maintain composure and protect a well-deserved 33 - 30 victory despite an injury to Captain Claudia - get well soon C!!

A fantastic team performance from everyone tonight girls, you all played your part to get an important win - WELL DONE!!💜

💜 SNIPERS V BODMIN 2 💜

Snipers hosted Bodmin’s seconds tonight for their first game in Division 2 after promotion last season.

The first quarter was fairly even, with both teams having opportunities to establish a lead, but neither managing to quite pull away. The Snipers mid courters of Claudia, Zoe and Soph worked the ball down court with accuracy, sending some lovely feeds into shooters Vic and Jada who were in fine form as Sils went into the break just one goal behind - so far so good.

A couple changes at the break saw Ella come on at GA while Vic moved to the mid court. The changes took a while to bed in, and Bodmin took advantage of a few mishaps in order to increase their score and create some breathing space.

Another reshuffle saw captain Claudia back on at WA while Vic had a well deserved rest in the third period. 8 goals down, Sils dug in deep and played some of their best Netball of the game. Jaimee had stepped into the defensive circle as GK for this game, accompanying Freya at GD and they posed a real threat to the Bodmin attack throughout, but especially so in the third securing some fantastic turn overs and combining nicely with Soph to put Bodmin on the back foot and help win the quarter.

Rested, Vic returned at GA as Ella replaced Jada at GS for the final fifteen. Bodmin had made some changes of their own and they took no time in re-establishing their lead when some long bombs into the circle were swiftly converted by their shooters while a few rushed balls saw Sils lose possession, and Bodmin capitalise from their turnovers. Sils continued to work hard, but the deficit was difficult to overcome and Bodmin maintained a healthy lead as the game finished 48-36.

Well done girls - a great first game in a tough division. A few bits to work on but equally a lot of positives to take.

Eyes down for the first social of the season 👀

Some of the Sils had a great time at the Next Ed Cornwall CIC’s charity BINGO at The Britannia Inn. last night.

Although not big among the prizes, we did walk away with a Malteser Reindeer and have a lot of fun, all while supporting a great cause!

💜 SILHOUETTES V MARVELS 💜

Tonight Marvels hosted both of our teams for some friendly games at Penrice.

💜 Shadows V Crew

Shadows started the game well with some lovely attacking play down court from midcourters Antonia, Lana and Steph who fed some clever balls in to shooters Leah and Dani and Brodi to establish an early lead.

As the game progressed, we tried some new combinations that didn’t quite work as well while on the flipside Crew grew into the game and came back at us, despite some great defensive play from Molly and Tegan who are really coming into their own as a partnership.

Shadows still managed to win all quarters though to grab a 24-15 win.

Well done Shadows - a great game and more experience under our belts!

Opposition POTM: Lana 👸🏻
Coaches POTM: Antonia 👸🏽

💜 Snipers V Squad

With some new additions, this was Snipers first game together in Silhouettes purple - and what a game it was!

It was a great opportunity to form new partnerships and gage what works for us, and despite the team being relatively new, at times you’d have thought they’d played together for years.

In a similar fashion to the earlier Shadows game, Snipers came out of the blocks quickly to give themselves a decent lead in the first half of the game. The shooting partnership of Jada and Ella paid dividends, they were both excellent positionally as well as in front of goal.

Meanwhile Claudia, Soph and Zoe worked together beautifully, creating space on court and sending some lovely feeds into our shooters and at the other end, Jaimee did a great job assisting Freya in the defending circle, as they grabbed some fabulous interceptions, rebounds and tips to win back possession for Snipers.

In the second half of the game we made some changes which didn’t quite gel while Marvels hit a different gear and began to eat away at the deficit, winning both of the last quarters. However, Snipers hung in there to keep a two goal advantage and seal a 38-36 win.

Well done girls - a great game for the spectator and some stunning play!

💜 SHADOWS V CROFTY 💜

Silhouettes Shadows made the journey down to Camborne tonight to play their second game of the season against Crofty.

From the moment the game began Sils could feel it would be a fast paced match, with the Crofty attack asserting their physicality from the get go. Shadows tried to keep composure though, as the mid court of Antonia, Lana and Steph worked the ball nicely down court into shooters Dani and Leah who gave Shadows a comfortable lead.

Brodi slotted in nicely with great movement and shooting at GS, while putting in a strong performance at WD after Lana had to sadly go off with an ankle injury. Despite the changes, Shadows continued to dominate the game; Tegan and Molly teamed up well defensively, improving quarter by quarter and getting the measure of tonight’s opponents with lots of interceptions and rebounds gained. Meanwhile, Grace made her debut, moving in and around the circle well at GS and WA to help Sils maintain their lead and win the game 46-22.

Well done girls - another positive performance. 💜

Thank you to Claire for umpiring for us as well!

💜 SHADOWS V LANIVET PANDAS 💜

Shadows began their 2026/2027 social league campaign tonight when they hosted Lanivet Pandas.

Sils dominated the early parts of the game, racking up an impressive score thanks to some fantastic long range shooting from Dani at GA, with Leah and Brodi assisting her as they shared the GS bib in the first half of the match. Meanwhile, defenders Tegan and Molly combined well to keep our opponents score low and retrieve possession for the mid court trio of Antonia, Steph and Lana who worked tirelessly to feed the ball down court into the attack throughout the game.

Pandas made some changes at half time and it made the match a much closer affair, with Pandas winning the third quarter. Shadows managed to regain control in the final fifteen though, cruising to a 43-26 win.

Well done team - a great game!

Thanks to Sam for scoring for us and to Heather for umpiring.
