So last Sunday we faced off Vs a very good Mynydd Isa side, before heading off to the White House Hotel in Rhuallt.

🏆Player of the match Vs Mynydd Isa

Dylan, bagged himself a goal and never stopped trying to make more happen in the final third of the pitch against a well marshalled Mynydd Isa defence, despite this he kept on going and didn't let his head drop.

End of season presentation afternoon...🏆

⚽What a brilliant afternoon it was, celebrating a group of players who have worked hard, improved tremendously, and most importantly, had so much fun along the way. From training sessions and matchdays to tournaments, muddy pitches, goals, smiles and plenty of laughter, it's been a season full of memories.

👏A huge thank you to all the parents, carers and families for their support throughout the season. The Tigers simply wouldn't be what they are without you.

Thank you to our Tigers. You've been a pleasure to coach and have represented St Asaph City Juniors brilliantly every time you've pulled on the yellow and black stripes.💯

🐅 Tigers V Mynydd Isa🟡

Tigers welcomed Mynydd Isa to Roarrrr Plas Meadow this morning for a friendly, with the idea of playing them prior to the Mynydd Isa Tournament in a few weeks!

It's now the third time we've played them now in around 3 weeks (played them twice at the Colwyn Bay Tournament as well!).🏆

Opening quarter was one way traffic from Isa as the Tigers goalmouth was like something from the Alamo, as the visitors raced into the lead, leaving the Tigers stunned. Second quarter saw the Tigers pull a goal back but to no avail really as we were forced into hurrying our passes and long shots as a strong Isa side had a well marshalled back line.

We had plenty of effort third and fourth quarter, with no further way through for Elias or Dylan🏃‍➡️⚽. Plenty of feisty tackles from Jacob and Jac 💪 and some fine displays of goalkeeping from both Tom & Jake✋🤚.

Wounds were licked and later in the day it was off to the presentation evening and a very rare (possibly only one in existence, a full team photo!)📸🏆

We are a tight knit, talented, committed, and keen group of players.
⚽Our schedule includes weekly training sessions on Wednesday evenings, with matches played on Sunday mornings (and occasionally midweek games).

📆Finally to complete my hat trick 🪄🎩🐯 of posts tonight and before I sneak off with the match ball as prize, some dates for your diary.....

Revenge is the word on the Tigers🐯 lips this week as they look to put one over a Mynydd Isa side who narrowly beat them to the Champions League trophy at Colwyn Bay. Tigers will be sharpening their toofypegs 🦷 ready for a 9:30 kick off this Sunday.

💛🖤Club presentation evening is later the same day!🏆

🚘 Fathers day sees the Tigers travel to Ellesmere Port for the Vauxhall Motors tournament on 21st June.

🐲 Sunday 28th June and it's home comforts again for the Tigers as they host Rhuddlan Dragons, kicking off 9:30am

Did I mention North West Sofa Club, they kit our Tigers out and also provide a range of seatware (is that a word?!) solutions!🛋

Impossible to pick a single player out as the Tigers roared their way to the Champions league final of the Colwyn Bay tournament, only to fall at the final hurdle.🏆

🏆 COLWYN BAY TOURNAMENT REPORT! 🏆

So the 🐅Tigers🐅 today travelled to Eiras Park for the Colwyn Bay tournament and what a great day of ⚽football⚽ it was!

📈Group stages -

Despite getting off to the worst possible start against a Penmaenmawr Phoenix side who hit us like a whirlwind, Tigers put on some battling performances, with goals, tackles and the never say die attitude 💪that is the hallmark of our Tigers. Despatching Pentraeth, Colwyn Bay Panthers, Talysarn Celts and Pentre Storm to finish fourth overall in the club stages and thus qualify for the Champions League.

‎◔Quarter Finals -‎
The quarter finals saw 🐅Tigers V 🐯Tigers as our yellow and black striped heroes faced their namesakes from Prestatyn Athletic. In a battling display 💛St Asaph🖤 earned a hard fought 1-0 victory to see us through to the semi finals.

🌗Semi Final -
Our Tigers were out for revenge in the semis v Rhyl Hearts Athletic, as in the group stages we were defeated 1-0. However, despite both teams having chances to score their was no way past either goalkeeper, so onto penalties it was. Noah and Dylan both despatched their penalties coolly💥, which left Rhyl needing to score to keep them in with a chance of victory. Jake 🧤 somehow pushing the resulting penalty over the bar to send the Tigers into the Champions league final🏆, where they would face Mynydd Isa.

🏆Champions League Final🏆 -
Tigers along with Mynydd Isa walked out together to the Champions League music! In a close encounter Elias⚽ put the Tigers in front, only for Isa to hit back with two quickfire goals. Try as they might the Tigers could not grab an equalizer despite at times bombarding the Isa box with through balls⬅️⚽ and crosses✝️ and peppering the Isa goal.🫑🥅

We finished a very credible runners up to a very good Mynydd Isa side, every single 🐅Tiger🐅 played their part and brought their own qualities to the games be it Jac & Jacobs fearless tackling💪, Noah & Dylan with their probing dribbles, goals & penalties🏃‍➡️⚽, Elias with his goals where they mattered⚽➡️🥅and Josh & Jakes goalkeeping heroics🧤.

Player ot the tournament, impossible to pick. So I've given it to the entire team of 🐅Tigers 💯- wouldn't swap a single one of them!💛♥️🖤

🐅No training or match this week, we're back for training on 3rd June and for a friendly on 7th June against........Mynydd Isa!🐅

🐅Tigers Mini Round Robin

Something a bit different today as we played host to 🔴Marchwiel Saints (x2)🔴 from Wrexham and 🍈Greenleas🍈 from Wallasey on the Wirral.

🔴We started Vs Marchwiel Saints team, who from the first whistle struggled to get out of their onw half such was the onslaught from the Tigers. Shots were raining in on the Saints goal from all angles as the Tigers ran out winners on the day.

🍈Next up were Greenleas, who despite being an U7 team, put on an impressive show and were ultimately unlucky to lose in what was an end to end game. Josh pulling out several saves to keep his first clean sheet of the day, Dylan being the player of the moment in front of the other goal, to ensure the win.

🔴Marchwiel Saints second side were next up for the Tigers and these put up a much more spirited peformance than the side we faced earlier. Again Josh was called on for several saves but we were well in front by thei stage, latter stages of play The Saints managed to grab a goal back. Some tasty tackles from both sides in this one and some lovely passing from the Tigers to open up the Saints at the back.

🍈We were only scheduled to play 3 matches but Greenleas asked for a quick 10 minute game to try and gain their revenge for earlier in the day and give them a bit more experience at U8 level (they will be making the jump direct to U9s next season) and we wrapped up playing 6 aside, finishing goaless. I think we found the 6 aside a bit of a challenge as we kept losing positions and allowing Greenleas overloads in our own half but not something we play much!

Very impressed with Greenleas

Over the four games, Tigers bagged themselves 8 goals with 3 cleansheets! A good run out prior to Denbigh Dragons next week and the Colwyn Bay Tournament next weekend.

🐯Tigers @ 🔵Ruthin/Denbigh🔴 Round Robin

Tigers got off to the worst possible start on Saturday at the Ruthin/Denbigh round robin, quickly conceding two quickfire goals to a rampant Ruthin Glas side.

The Tigers however showed heart❤️ and fight👊 throughout the rest of the day, not conceding another goal in open play and getting better and better as the day wore on.

With the final game versus Llangollen not going ahead, the day finished with a penalty shoot out versus our local rivals Denbigh Dragons , which then went to sudden death. Noah smashing home the decisive kick.🥅⚽🦶
