Had some time away from the gym?

Returning to the gym after some time away can be a challenge. Whether you’ve been injured, unwell, had covid or just been busy in other parts of your life, it can be tempting to want to pick up exactly where you left off. Same weights, same volume, same intensity.

Here are some tips for returning to training that your body will thank you for:

▪️Enjoy the process – you’re back! You’ve made it out the other-side of whatever it was that hit pause on your training. You might not be as strong as you were last time you hit the gym, but your health is a gift that should never be taken for granted.

▪️Plan ahead – Book the sessions in your diary. Speak to the coach and ask them which would be the best day to come and jump back in and workout and speak to your friends, so the workout becomes a social experience as well as just a physical one!

▪️ Tell the coach – let the coach know its your first, second or third session back. They can help with modifications that will make the workout more productive for you in the long run.
