We moved here six years ago to try to improve the insomnia I was experiencing which I think was part of the legacy of my own burnout.

So even the garden is a testament to resilience and the conditions we can thrive in with the right support.

Wishing you all a good day.

Good morning from Llannefydd. Just had breakfast on the little terrace outside our bedroom and wanted to share the birdsong this morning. This part of the garden is four years old and it amazes us every day how lush it is now. There’s no soil as such; it’s compacted dust and rock and a beggar to dig!

So happy with our pond…

What a week so far! France has not disappointed.

Spending time in Normandy basking in friendships that are uplifting and so genuine has reminded me that sometimes we lose more than we think.

I almost lost my relationship with some incredible people simply because I began overthinking the relationships and especially the language difference.

Moving forward the onus is on me to put aside any fear (for some reason I thought I couldn't speak French any longer. WRONG!) and ring my friends more often! Holding onto these friends is worth a bit of discomfort trying to get my French ear working again.

It's made me think about all the times we overthink and spoil things for ourselves.

What about you do you see any ways overthinking has ever sabotaged you?

We’re back in France to see my friend Will.

He’s an artist here.

When I lived here twenty years ago he was my biggest confidante. He helped me through the grief and the pain.

We shared quite a few bottles of Chablis at the time. He’s still painting prolifically, his talent is immense.

I’ll be forever grateful to him.
