Capital Girls U13 3 - 6 SWCFC Girls U13 United

After months of planning, Saturday afternoon marked a historic moment for Saffron Walden Community FC Girls as our U13 United made their debut in the Junior Premier Leage (JPL) Warriors, a first for the club.

On a warm, sunny day in St Albans, the girls arrived buzzing with excitement and a few nerves for their match against Capital Girls U13. The girls were keen to get going and United started the stronger before both sides exchanged two goals each in the first 20 mins.

The togetherness and hard work was evident throughout the match was evident for United. The team defended resolutely and attacked as a team throughout the match. Ella delivered a strong player of the match performance with five goals, and Isabel showed composure to tuck away a penalty. United won the match 6-3.

The girls were backed by fantastic support from parents who brought positivity throughout. A brilliant start to their JPL journey full of heart, teamwork, and skill for United - onwards to the next match and the JPL challenge for the season. Well done girls!!

First game of the season for our U11s!! ⚽️

Saffron Walden strikers U11 played their first league game in the U12 league on Saturday. They played some outstanding attacking football, with effective passing and moving. Libby, Sienna, Olivia, Chloe and Annabelle all defended brilliantly. Emily, Mya and Iris created some good chances and worked really hard. Goals were scored by Blythe (3) Alice, Bryher, Penny, Phoebe and Nuna. The team demonstrated great teamwork and a high intensity throughout the game.

A special matchday experience for our U12s!! ⚽️

On Sunday, our U12 team had a mascot day for Cambridge United Women’s FC (CUWFC).

It was an amazing day for the squad and hopefully one they will remember for years to come!

A brilliant experience for our young players, and a reminder of the opportunities that football can provide ❤️🖤👏

We are on the hunt for a strategic, inspiring Women & Girls Head Coach to lead our coach development programme, unify our coaching philosophy, and support our 60+ volunteer coaches across the 20 teams at Saffron Walden Community FC Women & Girls

Quick Details:
⏱️ 4–6 hours per week (Term-time, Sept–June)
💼 Paid Part-Time Contractor Role (rate dependent on qualifications and experience)
📋 Minimum UEFA C / Level 2 qualified, valid FA Safeguarding, First Aid and enhanced DBS
🧠 Lead and develop CPD, mentorship, and coaching strategy for 20 women's and girl's squads and over 60 coaches
